Q: I recently bought a '95 C220, shes my first MB and after a week of driving I have vowed to never buy any other brand of car. I think i've just about figured out all of her idiosyncricies, however this one still confuses me. There is a small 1/4 diameter or so plastic tube comming out of the floor to the left the battery/fuse box in the trunk, about 8 inches long or so. It has an L connector on the end, but it is not fastened to anything, nor can i find anything that it could fasten to. Any clues anyone? Vaccume tube for some component that was never installed?
maybe a fusible link :)
Q: What are the different types of plastic tubes available?
There are several different types of plastic tubes available, including PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), PE (Polyethylene), PP (Polypropylene), and PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene). Each type of plastic tube has its own unique properties and applications, making them suitable for various purposes such as plumbing, electrical insulation, packaging, and medical devices.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for electrical wiring?
No, plastic tubes cannot be used for electrical wiring as they do not provide adequate protection and insulation for the wires.
Q: My 98 Stratus 2.4L 4 cyl is dripping clear clean water on the passenger side and has accumulated water in the blower motor area. How can I clean out the drain? Where is the drain?
The drain will be on the passenger side, towards the bottom of the firewall. It should be below the 2 heater hoses that go intot he heater core. On yours, I think it was just a tube coming out of the firewall, it will have a foam gasket around the platic tube. The tube will protrude from the firewall just a little bit. Some have a 90 degree rubber elbow on the end of the tube. If it is just the plastic tube, without the elbow, then use either a wet/dry vac if you have one, or use a wire hanger to poke into the hole and try to remove whatever is blocking the drain. If you don't get it out, it might block it again later, or it might come out with the water. If you have the 90 degree rubber elbow, a quick trick is to squeeze it at the very end and roll it between your fingers to loosen the blockage. If that doesn't work, remove the elbow and clean it out, it will generally have the blockage in it. The elbow should have 2 pieces of wire sticking out, just squeeze these together and slide it off. Might have to give it a twist to get it to come loose. If you get the elbow off and water doesn't come rushing out, then clear the plastic tube, and check the elbow to be sure it isn't clogged.
Q: I remember when I was a kid my mother had a bunch of different cake decorating tubes in various colors and I'm pretty sure she still has them - and may use them, lol! OK, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but seriously, how long can I keep and use those little plastic squirt tubes of colored icing that you use to decorate cakes and cookies - realistically? Thanks!
Those tubes you are referring to are icing. I am sure they must have preservatives in them to make them last longer. I think there should be a date on the tube which would say. Best if used by..... I know that with my buttercream icing, which I make at home, It will stay good on the counter top for about 2 weeks. I wouldn't want to eat it after that. If your icing tubes were kept in the freezer you could keep them for a year or more.
Q: Can you eat coloured icy poles in the plastic tubes with braces??
YES. If they are not chewy or rock solid, then you are good to go.
Q: I want to bleed my clutch but I was wondering if I can do it without the plastic tube that goes on the bleed nipel??? Help?
Yes, but it is a bit messy. Same procedure - person A opens the nipple about 1/2 turn, person B presses the clutch pedal down, A closes the nipple finger tight, B pulls the pedal up with his foot, repeat.... Use rags, paper towels, shop towels, or whatever to soak up the brake fluid as it comes out. An important note is that brake fluid is subject to spontaneous combustion when soaked up. (Brake fluid is a notorious part of the arsonist's toolbox.) Wet the soaked rags with water and seal them in a zip-lock bag or something else to keep air out before disposing of them.
Q: i tried puttin super glue to the end of a coat hanger but it didnt work. what are some other ways i can fish it out. it is about 3 or 4 inches deep
1. Try using a piece of rubber tubing that is just large enough to fit over the dipstick but small enough to go into the dipstick tube and that is long enough to do the job without getting lost inside the tube, about a foot or two long piece should do. It should only cost a few bucks at the auto parts store for them to cut a piece of tubing for you. You also may need a long flat-tip screwdriver to position the dipstick away from the dipstick tube wall and towards the center of the dipstick tube. Gently push the tubing over the dipstick end and then slowly pull it out of the dipstick tube. 2. If this doesn't work then the dipstick tube *should* be removable, sometimes nut or bolts will hold it secure in place and those items as well as any parts in the way of access of the dipstick tube will need to be removed. Good luck!
Q: How can plastic pipes be connected to steel valves?
Valve such as flange valve, then PVC-U pipe and valve connection should be flange connection. Connecting with the plastic pipe and flange with flange bonding, also can use hemmed or band.(2) connect the PP-R tube and the valve threaded valve valves such as: 1) is, should use external thread transition joints, the transition joints at one end of the external thread, the other end is connected with hot melt socket PP-R plastic pipe.2) the valve, such as the external thread valve, should use the internal thread transition joint, one end of the transition joint is internally threaded, and the other end is a socket which can be connected with the PP-R plastic pipe by hot melting.3) valve, such as flange valve, then PP-R pipe and valve connection should be flange connection. Connecting with the plastic pipe and flange can be used hot melt connection, flange can be used hemmed or band.(4) PE pipe, PB pipe and valve connection, method with PP-R tube.(5) the connection of PVC-C pipe, ABS pipe and valve, the way is the same as the PVC-U pipe.(6) PE-X pipe, PAP pipe, these two types of tubes, pipe specifications smaller, the pipe connection is card sleeve connection and compression connection, and the valve should be used to clamp or clamp sleeve transition joint.
Q: I have a winter white hamster, and he always sleeps in his plastic tubes.Should i be worried? Im afraid ther is not enough air flow......Well? Should i be worried? Additional Details?
its nothing to worry about he could be sleeping there cause he has not found another place to sleep yet or he is sleeping there cause he knows you cant get him there so he feels safer there (my ham did that for a while). just make sure there are plenty of places for him to sleep like huts holes and lost of bedding for him to burrow and give him a day or two to find though's places and he wont worry about getting picked up as much (dwarfs just don't like to be picked up). hope this helps
