- It's a question of priority and what matters most to you. I usually think of these things in terms of which option gives me the most utility. In other words what gives me the most functionality that I don't have now. So ... Why do you need a bed frame for the mattress? What does it do except raise the mattress up higher (and allow you to collect dust under it)? I slept on a mattress on the floor (with carpet under it) for years. It's the mattress that matters, not the bed frame. And if you really have a Tempurpedic you have a top end memory foam mattress. If you really want the mattress off the floor you can make a bed frame for about $75. That said, surround sound will only work for some programs (it's useful for movies though). Just don't waste money on a cheap system. It's better to buy quality ... even if you have to do it over time. For example, good speakers can last a lifetime. I suggest considering a quality HTIB or a used surround receiver and some quality speakers.

Check the mattress linens for blood marks or dark stains, these happen when you smash them as you are moving in the bed overnight, also check the mattress and bed spring for blood marks and stains from the bedbugs, sometimes you will also notice the bedbugs themselves if they are large enough. After a few feedings they will turn a dark red or deep brown and you can see them, they look kind of like ticks to me. They will also nest in the bed frames and wall coverings, dressers, trim boards, window frames, door frames, etc. Living in an apartment sometimes they can come from an infested neighboring apartment just like roaches and ants.
