Q: I am interested in installing a home solar panel system. In my city, we get a little over 5 hours of sun, and I typically use about 800-900 kwh per month. The available roof space is small- approximately 600 sqft. The online calculators provided on various sites are not uniform, thus providing inconsistent responses with the same input data.I think I need a 5kw system approximately. Can anyone verify that and provide a link for a reasonably priced system to meet my needs? Prefer grid-tied, but off-grid is acceptable as well. Thanks!
Himin Solar can help you design and install home solar panel system.
Q: how much would you pay for a 2'x4' solar panel that puts out 24 volts and 74 watts?
That's a rather low power for that size. Is it an old panel? Is it amorphous silicon, or crystalline? That should easily fetch $ per watt on craigslist. If I was buying a panel myself, I would probably get a more mainstream panel from a major internet vendor.
Q: I need to build a battery array to use with my solar panels I just bought. I want to be able to store enough energy to be draw from it at night, possibly around the clock. Is there a down side to using the deep cycle battery I bought from autozone and 6 or 7 more just like it, or do I need to get some other battery?
There are batteries particularly made for solar, such as the Trojan T05-RE . I think the RE stands for renewable energy. A deep cycle battery should work all right, although not quite as well. What you want to do is try out your setup first, with just one battery, and the panels provided. If this is one of those 45 watt kits, you may be surprised at how little energy you actually get from the panels. Increasing the number of batteries won't help, either - that's like getting a larger water tank, when you only have a trickle to fill it. If your goal is really to save money, the most cost-effective solar is the grid-tied type, with no batteries at all. That's what we have, and I've never regretted it.
Q: Can solar panels be integrated into buildings?
Yes, solar panels can be integrated into buildings through various methods such as rooftop installations, facade-integrated systems, and solar windows. These integrated solar panels not only generate clean energy but also blend seamlessly with the building's architecture, making them a popular choice for sustainable and aesthetically pleasing designs.
Q: I want to know that if I put solar panels in space if Pluto can recieve energy for iPods and television
Yes. Not practical, but possible. Solar cells actually work best at low temperatures. At a little under W/m^2, it'd take a large solar panel to generate enough power for a TV (several tens to hundreds of Watts are needed). And, no offense meant, what TV programs do you think you'll be watching? You sound kind of stupid....
Q: How to Compare Solar Panels? ?
Each okorder / When comparing the cost of different solar panels, bear in mind the variation in return each panel can provide. More expensive solar panels may provide better value for money in the long run. Greater power out.
Q: Can solar panels be used in apartments or condominiums?
Yes, solar panels can be used in apartments or condominiums. While it may be more challenging to install solar panels on multi-unit buildings, it is possible to implement shared solar systems or install panels on common areas. This allows residents to benefit from solar energy and reduce their electricity costs, even if they do not have individual rooftops for panel installation.
Q: I'm making a model of a solar photovoltaic tower for a school project. I need a way to store energy, and we thought about using capacitors (mainly because of our somewhat limited funding). The tower will have a small photovoltaic panel (around the size of a laptop keyboard with number pad) and some (around 50) quot;heliostats(just the mirrors, no moving parts). What kind of capacitors should i use? and would a capacitor bank be better? i am getting confused with all those uF, pF and can't see the difference.Thanx in advance

Q: Can solar panels be used to power a skyscraper?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a skyscraper. With advancements in solar technology, larger and more efficient panels can be installed on rooftops or facades of skyscrapers, harnessing sunlight to generate electricity. However, the power generated may not be sufficient to fully meet the energy demands of a skyscraper, so a combination of solar power with other renewable sources or traditional energy grids might be needed.
Q: How do solar panels affect roof warranty?
Solar panels can potentially affect roof warranties depending on the specific terms and conditions set by the manufacturer or installer. It is advisable to consult with the manufacturer or installer and review the warranty documents to understand any potential impact on the roof warranty when installing solar panels.
