The rear suspension is not difficult to replace with new or even used air bags and solenoids. It is a good idea to replace the air lines, but before doing any of that make sure the compressor/pump is working. If you want to rid the car of the air ride suspension there are kits on the market or you can use the struts for a Mercury Cougar ont he front and a set of special coil springs on the rear. The springs are usually available are specialty parts stores. There is a savings over buying the kits whole. Best of luck!
Q:I have a 1998 altima and today I decided to drive my car on the freeway for fun again. As I kept covering miles and miles(60 miles) my car started to shake over 80mph. What could it be the cause of it? I rotated the tires, the mounts are bolted, axles are fine, transmission was replaced, tires are inflated proper lying and I replace my front and rear suspension. WTF is wrong with this car?
Not to be rude or a jerk but you did all this to your car, you can see and inspect it physically and yet you expect us online to somehow magically diagnose your car sight unseen? Could be any number of things including the very real possibility that you are either lying about all the work you had done.to a 1998 Altima, who would bother replacing all that suspension on a worthless near 20 year old Nissan Altima?? Was the work was done incompetently or with cheap parts. Is this a salvage title car? Is the frame even straight? Are the rims straight? Tires balanced? How do you know the axles are fine? Something just isn't right about your question, and quite frankly, the car needs to go to a shop. absolutely notthe 318 (E36 I assume) sport suspension is just a little stiffer than stock.the M3 setup is a completely diffrent systemmore high tech (thats why it handles better) no the M3 suspension or any components will not fit if thats your question

Q:I haven‘t driven the car in about 8 years. I‘ve seen used engines online as cheap as $8k. Being that I want to replace everything under the hood, I need upholstery work done, a decent stereo system, new tires, new mufflers, and a paint job; what would be a good approximation of what I will end up paying with labor included?I haven‘t had the time to do the proper research myself; but I‘m guessing maybe somewhere near $17k.
OK. I think $17K is a good place to start if you've got a rust-free body, but what about suspension and brakes? It doesn't do any good to make it go like a new car if it can't turn and stop like one too. Tack on another $5k for modern 4-wheel disc brakes, AND a good suspension system. Also, if the body has rust issues, you can kick it up another couple of grand for body repair and rust control BEFORE the new paint. By the time you're done, you could buy a brand new Cadillac ATS and have a REALLY reliable daily driver. Complete with a factory warranty.

Sounds like you have actually thought this out and done the proper mods to the suspension system but I do have one query, Did you swap to power steering? I hope so because the newer wheels have a lot more width to them thus more rubber sitting still on pavement making it harder to turn sitting still. This will drastically affect life of tie rods, ball joints and front suspension connecting pins. If you did not then I would suggest moderately over inflating the front tires. YES they will wear out faster but they will harden, expand a little more in the center tread and reduce the friction on the ground. Sounds to me like you are 80% there. Good luck and happy motoring.
