- Throughout history many types of chairs have been built for torture. The Judas Chair was used in the Spanish Inquisition. The last one used in the United States was in Utah and was ordered removed from service after the death of an inmate in the late 1990's. I actually saw this chair sitting in the state surplus property division in 2008. It is believed that many county sheriff's departments around the country still use the chair but it's called a restraint chair. Once someone is placed in that chair it's possible to conduct interrogations and or torture, etc. This chair has been ordered banned. The one in Utah was designed built at the Utah State Prison.
- Q:I hear all the time that a chair seat is improper when riding a horse. I've seen pictures of what it looks like, so I feel like I have a general idea.However, I see riders constantly that ride with what I would associate with a chair seat. Most of the time, this is in western riding - and even western riders that are successfully competing. Sometimes the seat is really extreme.Now, I know there are differences between western and english riding, but I was always under the impression that a chair seat is bad because the rider has less control and it puts pressure on sensitive areas of the horses back. - Q:Just purchased 10 ladder back country chairs from a not so clean house. The chairs have a straw design I guess for the seat? The design comes in on all four sides. The straw looks like rope to me just very old and dirty. The chairs are old but could be beautiful again. They are in excellent condition from what I can see, just dirty and smoked up. Can someone that knows about old furniture please help me. I do not want to mess these chairs up by doing something I shouldn't. I planned on putting murphy's oil soap in very warm water and give them a good cleaning. What would you perfer I use. I've been looking for these chairs for along time. - That's a kool old rolling chair . . probably used for someone who worked at a table most of the time, or like a doctor's or dentist chair . .that the doctor sat in as it swiveled and reclined as well and rolled. . . .in any event . . unless you come up with an answer as to exactly what it's use was . . I'd say $150 for any old utility piece of furniture in nice condition. You could probably do better if you were to sell it as a modern or industrialist piece. Have you looked around underneath for any labels or markings?

Me and my mum have searched for a attachable toy bar to go on/over their bouncy chairs to entertain them but cannot seem to find one. - Q:Recently, I bought a chair at Wal-Mart, and they assembled it for me. Recently, I noticed there were about 5 or 6 tiny little bugs crawling on the back part of it. I killed them, and I can't see anyone, but they are very hard to see on the black surface of the chair. I'm trying to figure out where they are coming from. Any ideas?
- Well honestly if you never saw the bugs before the chair then I would just take it back to Walmart and tell them the problem. There should be no reason you can't get your money back or exchange it because like the other person said it could be the material or it may just be the box it came in or where it was stocked. I wouldn't risk your house filling up with nasties over a chair. Walmart is normally understanding about things. Either way good luck.
