- Q:It still hurts in the spot where I hit the chair. Wondered if this has happened to anyone else? I am hoping it didn't harm the baby. Don't want to rush and call the doc or anything just yet, but what signs should I look for? Obviously if I start bleeding or something crazy I will go straight to the er, but I am just concerned that I might have just hurt my little one!
- I keep opening the door into my belly! The doctor was giving me a hard time about the bruises that I have incurred carrying this thing around the past few weeks. If it's not the door, I've walked into my dresser, chairs knock it on the counters etc. Everything will be fine.

- Q:i have these wooden chairs that have dried peeling paint i need to get off so i can stain them. there is no varnish or stain i can see, just old paint. Is sanding it off the best way to go? are there sanders small enough to get into the corners and grooves? i am pregnant, so chemicals are not an option. thank you!
- Save yourself the grunting bending w/ one on the way. There are non toxic heavy paste strippers that are almost edible do not give off fumes. Can still wear gloves a mask. Bigger concern would be dust from sanding off old paint that may or may not contain lead. If ithe paint comes of cleanly w/ the paste, you may not have to sand at all just rub w/ steel or bronze wool have no dust at all. Always more than one way to skin a cat. Best regards congrats.
- Q:I have a desk chair that leans back and one of the arms broke. When you lean back in the chair it puts alot of stress on the arm and it finally snapped after a couple of years. Now when you sit in the chair it twists and it really uncomfortable. I can solve the problem by putting the arm back together and was thinking that i could make a splint kind of thing for it, but the arm is a weird curvy shape and any straight material won't work. Any suggestions for materials that i could use would be appreciated or if you have another idea of how to fix it, i would happy to hear them.Please don't say super glue or tape because it will not work.Also, i'm not buying a new chair so please don't leave that as a response either.
- You are wrong about using a glue. But then glue is not the right word anyway. Use a material called PL Premium Construction Adhesive. Tube section at many locations. Just don't spend much time breathing it and do not get it on your skin. This adhesive is used to stick most anything to anything - forever. Builders and masons have used this stuff for decades. The old joke is that PL will stick a Volkswagon to a brick wall. How strong? Well, if you use PL to stick two large boards together, you will never be able to break the bond - even with an axe or a ten pound sledge. The wood will be smashed to pieces and the two adhesive faces will still be solidly stuck together. As it relates to your work, I have used it to repair runners on rocking chairs and legs that have snapped apart. Still going thirty years later.

- My husband goes through computer chairs, too. My son and I have been looking at Office Max and Office Depot. Best Buy, Staples, and any other office supply place carries them. We saw some nice ones for about $200-300. I would go to various stores, sit in several, ask the store which ones have been returned (avoid those) and inquire which ones would hold up for a big guy Also, many companies are offering at least one or two chairs that are considered green. I think that is a great idea.
- Q:Im trying to lower my office chair but it is different then my last one. My last one had some lever that you just puch and your weight will lower it like hydralics, but this chair is different it dont have that lever the only thing it has is some type of knob that turn at the bottom. I tried that and nothing happens does anyone know how to lower these types of chairs?
- My guess is the paddle that adjusts this either broke fell out or was somehow removed. Flip your chair over and you will find the manufacturer, model and serial number this will help you re-order also look for a place that the paddle would fit into by the cylinder and lastly the knob you' re referring to is most likely a tilt tension knob and if this is the case your chair should certainly have a height adjustment.

- I don't like those vibrating massage chairs. They just make my skin itch after sitting in them. I have an iJoy massaging chair and it's like the massage tables chiropractors have. There are these rollers in it that travel up and down the back of the chair. And, with different settings, you can get different massaging action with them. I think these are about $750 or so at Costco. But, if you're looking for a massage chair, they are definitely the way to go.
- Q:i tried buying her a scratcher, she uses it, but she still scratches my wood room set chairs. its getting annoying. no matter how much i yell her, does it anyway.
- You could try putting double-sided tape on the areas that the cat scratches on the chairs. It's totally harmless (she won't want to scratch the chairs if they're sticky) and it won't harm your furniture either. Some pet stores also sell a spray that you can buy that people can't smell, but it smells bad to cats. This works for us too. Once she sees that she can't go near the chairs, she'll go right back to using the scratcher. Good luck :)
