Q:ok...i want to find a valve that controls air pressure so i can let it out in 2 different ways for my pneumatic potato gunwhat websites or stores sell this (not home depot)
You might have to register on the site to order online. It is free. You can call them and order the catalog. It is free also. Hope this helps Email me if you want me to look it up in my catalog. Don't break any windows. Wingman
Q:Ok I recently changed my pcv valve and today when I was checking my spark plugs I noticed and valve that looked exactly like a pcv valve on the passenger side valve cover iam not sure exactly what this valve is ?? I should note that I changed the pcv valve on the driver side because I noticed that it was just a hose coming out of a rubber grommet and into the back of the carb was that just a breather hose ? Thanks in advance for any info
to add, support, you can simply soak pcv valve in fuel. the little eliment filter as well. pcv valve is a hard part. rattles when shaken? it's good. elliment filter is not a paper one. it too can merely be soaked. i've seen a few pcv valves that are bad. those were on engines that sat in yards for years and years. oil dried and set. had ridges that did not let the ball rattle. other than that, never seen one go bad. just need cleaning.
Q:I want to put a blow off valve in my car to make it sound cool lol but i dont have a turbo yet ... do i even need one?
Buy a compressed air tank that you can fill at a gas station like you would air up a tire. Mount this tank in your trunk and route air hose from the trunk through the passenger compartment and into the engine compartment. Add a simple valve in your center console or wherever you prefer to turn the air on or off. Drill a hole though your hood and affix the air hose to it. With the air tank filled up, just open the valve and WHOOSH, instant blow off valve sound. You could even fill the hose with confetti for a colorful display. If you wanted to get real fancy you could rig up an electric air compressor under your hood for a continuous air supply. Thats the only way you cant get the release of compressed air to make a blow off valve sound without a turbo. Oh, and while you buying all the supplies for this don't forget to get some fake spinner bling-bling hub caps!! Then you will have the ultimate pimped out ride!
Q:why do new motorcycles need to get their valves shimed alot? can someone explain how the whole valve adjusting thing works? why do some engine types require more attention? i have owned thumpers my whole life and never really thought about it. i was looking at this like cheap beater bike (hyosung gt250 v twin) and i read the valves need to be checked like 3 times in a short span, wtf??

Q:What is motor operated valve (MOV) please answer me if anybody have experiance in instrumentation filed, please explain overhauling and troble shooting
Motor Operated valve is a valve where the Actuator Part of the Valve is replaced by a motor instead of pneumatic . MOV are normally used for Larger Process lines where the Pneumatic pressure is not enough to provide torque or pressure for the Valves movement. Since Motors have good torque they are used to open or close the valves, these are also called as electrical Actuators. Please be more specific about the Problem you face so that i can advice you on the trouble shooting also.
Q:Hello,I've not found a perfect fit using a solenoid valve for gravity fed irrigation system. Primarily because it requires a constant drain on the battery while the valve is open. Is there a motorized valve to fit the bill? One that momentarily requires electricity to open and close the valve at 12v DC or less to work in gravity fed system?
I don't know how it specifically wires. There are two strategies for latching devices. One is a solenoid with two coils. Pulse one to open, pulse the other to close. The other strategy is to have one coil. Apply polarity in one direction to open, in the other to close. I suggest googling for latching solenoid valve, and/or checking out the major irrigation (or sprinkler) manufacturers for their offerings.
Q:How much would it cost to get a new valve cover gasket on a 1993 Nissan Quest van?? I know of a van for sale, but they said it might need a gasket soon. How much plus labor, average, do you think it'll cost? Thanks!!
The valve cover gasket (parts and labor) is about $100 - $200 for the left side and $300 - $400 for the right hand side, but be sure you didn't misunderstand and the failing gasket is actually a head gasket. Those are a big deal: $1500 - $2000.
Q:Need some info. Ok, four valves per cylinder is better than two valves per cylinder. Fine, why did Ford REVERT to only 3 valves (my guess is to save cost SOHC)? Audi and VW are using five valves per cylinder on some cars, does this offer any advantage over a four valve engine? Maserati even experimented with a six valve per cylinder!!!! (see link) http://www.maserati-alfieri .uk/alfier... but abandoned it (my guess is cost again?) Why are we stuck at four valves or would more valves actually render more horsepower? Pop some ideas best answer to reasonable answer...
Think of an engine as an air pump - obviously, we want the least amount of restriction for the incoming air and also the least amount for exhausting the compressed air. The ideal situation would be to remove the head during the intake stroke and put it back on during the compression stroke, but, obviously, this isn't possible. On a naturally aspirated engine, the intake is the most critical because the air is moved only by a relatively small difference in pressures. The exhaust stroke, on the other hand, is aided greatly by the super heated temperature and rapid expansion of the gasses. Two intake and one exhaust valve seems to be the most practical and efficient solution - adding more vales means smaller valves and an increase in the overall complexity. I seriously doubt that Maserati ever abandoned ANY automotive idea due to cost restraints. It's far more likely that adding more valves than three or four simply resulted in diminishing returns. Sometimes the allure of a new buzz phrase is nothing more than a marketing ploy - a 16 valve, DOHC, four cylinder engine, for example, is a pretty impressive resume for an engine, regardless of whether it actually is the optimum performance set up or not.
Q:Getting a piston for my yz and It says power valve must be modified for .040 or larger soo what does that mean and how do you do it.?
The power valve is the little metal flap that cover up part of the exhaust port while the engine is operating at low and mid RPM ranges. If you have bored the cylinder and the power valve is protruding into the cylinder, then you'll have to machine off the power valve or use a die grinder (dremel tool) to provide additional clearance. EDIT - If you're ordering the piston that is .040 oversize, then the power valve has to be modified. If you're ordering the .030 or smaller oversize, or the stock size, then no modification is needed.
Q:I have mitral valve prolapse. Just recently Ive been getting chest pains more often * few times a day* and the panic and anxiety have gotten worse. I had a pain last night that lasted about 10 minutes and it was very uncomfortable.I know mitral valve prolapse is a condition that usually not a threat. But can it get worse over time with some people? My doctor already knows I have it but should I go back to have more tests done?Im kinda scared because my symptoms are getting to be more than what they were.Any advice?
Mitral valve prolapse associated with severe mitral regurgitation can be treated with repair or surgical replacement of the mitral valve. Repair of the mitral valve is always preferable to replacement and should be performed by surgeons that are skilled in the procedure. Current ACC/AHA guidelines suggest that early repair of mitral valve, performed in centers of surgical excellence, should be considered even in patients without symptoms of heart failure. Symptomatic patients, those with evidence of diminished left ventricular function or left ventricular dilatation need urgent attention.
