Q:i tried to make a purchase on OKorder through pay pal. i don't have any credit cards so i use my visa bank card for all transactions. the seller was in canada.my bank put some block recently on international purchases even on pay pal. i called today and asked about it. the lady was very rude and told me it is for my protection and i had no choice in the matter. she didn't have all day to argue with me and if i didn't like it i could close the account. then hung up on me. i offered to sign a statement agreeing not to hold the bank liable for any fraud or Identity theft on my account. i feel like it is discrimination against international trade. it is unethical. i called other local banks and most don't have any policy like this at all and the few that did said that because pay pal insurances transactions through them if it is through pay pal it shouldn't matter where the seller is.
If you don't like your bank policies, then switch banks. Banks are having a hard time economically and so they are taking measures to prevent any losses. It's not diescimination against international trade and it's not unethical; its just that bank's policy. If your other local banks don't have that policy, open an account with one of them. Just this week my neighbor was a victim of theft through pay pal. Someone hacked into her email account and from there got into her Paypal and OKorder . It turned out this hacker was from Nigeria. OKorder would not let my neighbor close her OKorder account as active bidding was going on-- bidding on a SAPPHIRE! Of course her paypal is related to a bank account. You think this can't happen to you; my neighbor never thought it would happen to her. Boy is she sorry now. It's a mess. So don't be mad at your bank. Just change banks if you don't want this additional security. You can also use a credit card and just pay it off each month, thus having no direct link to a bank account if it gets stolen.
Q:Hello-I am in the process of buying a house that was repossesed from the bank The house has no power to it and the water system is currently winterized That means I can't tell if the furnace is OK, I can't tell if the well has water in it or if the water system is OK, I can't tell if the septic system is OK either WHat can I do to make sure I an not buying more headaches than I know what to do with? It is a beautiful house that needs a little TLC and it will be perfect, but I am a bit leary of these three main items ANy help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. The house is located in Northern Ma and right now it's a steal, but If I need a new well, septic, furnace it will be a giant money pit. Thanks for your input.
Get a home inspection and find out from the bank if you can get the electricity turned on temporarily
Q:1. Should a bank go bankrupt what will happen to all your money?2. If you have a loan THEN the bank goes bankrupt, what'll happen to the loan?3. I heard you can gain political power by controlling the banks as politican, how does it work?Simple summaries please,Thanks in advance.
1. fdic will take care of your money in the event the bank goes out of business up to 250,000 2. the loan is an asset of the bank, the fdic takes over and will sell it. you still owe the money. 3. you can't control the banks unless you hold a major interest in that bank. Like now, citi has more government influence in it than other banks. This is why you hear of many banks wanting to pay back tarp money so fast. this way they get uncle sam out of their way.
Q:Can supporters of the privately-owned Federal Reserve Bank and it's governmental partner the IRS, explain how this partnership improve and benefits the lives of the average American?
It is not good for any one except the banks under it. The Federal reserve system which is a fractional reserve system is centered around inflation and has foreclosures and bankruptcies built into it.
Q:A friend and me have an inside joke, and we r both superheroesi'm batwoman and shes spiderwoman. We know spiderman powers but neither of us can remember batmans.except for that totally awesome car. D
He doesn't have any supernatural powers but he has some really good Natural physical and mental abilities and honed instincts. He was also trained as an assassin by the League of Shadows, a group of assassins headed by Ras' al Ghul. In short he's a very smart tactician and warrior and would prolly kick all our asses any day.
Q:CITI-BANK,CHASE MANHATTAN,BANK OF AMERICA,for those who couldn't pay their credit cards.
Not a bad idea.maybe that will teach people to be responsibleyou know it is stealing.better that than going to jail.
Q:I m going on a three-day long trip, but we ll be sleeping on a bus, so no outlets. We have an iPhone 5c, an iPhone 6, and a iPad mini 3 that we ll have to charge. Assuming we need to get three charges out of each of them, what size power bank should I get for this? I m okay with getting multiple. Thanks!
You will need more than one. Full iPhone 5c charge 1500 mAh. Full iPhone 6 charge 1800 mAh Full iPad mini charge 6400 mAh (all values approximate) Add up and multiply by 3 gives almost 30,000 mAh. Common sense would suggest a 50% reserve, so 45,000 mAh. What about a charger to fit in the bus accessory socket?
Q:I just recieved a Harbor Freight generator with an 800/900 max watt capacity as a gift. I want to use it to power a 29 foot travel trailer (lights, microwave, tv, fridge, radio). I will be living in it so I want a way to give it power 24/7. I know this generater is not big enough to do that, but could I possibly charge 2-4 deep cell batteries to do the trick? I don't know much about this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Assuming this generator outputs 120 VAC, then get a battery charger rated at that voltage and 800 watts, and use that to charge the batteries. At 12 volts, that is about 60 amps, so it will charge a typical 12 volt battery quickly. Probably too quickly, be sure the charger can be set to the correct charge rate for the batteries you will be using, and has circuitry that will detect a full charge and taper the charge down to the proper value. But you will need a lot of expensive batteries. If your drain is more than 800 watts, say 2000 watts, and you want your batteries to last for, say, 10 hours, that is 20000 watt-hours. dividing by 12, that is (with losses) about 2000 amp-hours, which is a bank of 20 large batteries. But charging batteries in general does not help unless you are counting on charging them at night, say, when your drain is low and letting them supply the extra power during the day. This means you will need an inverter and a way to synchronize the inverter with the generator output. In practice that is not possible, so you will have to split your loads and rewire to accomodate that. Altogether, a mess. .
Q:Cite a specific example of an implied power and describe how it was derived from a specific expressed power found in article 1 section 8.
National Bank. McCulloch v. Maryland (1819). The express requirement/power/responsibility of the federal government to print currency, tax, and spend, necessarily implies a power to charter and establish a national bank as a place to store that money, to operate a bank with deposits and to issue promissory notes, and to pay the debts of the U.S. An express provision regarding taxing and spending necessarily implies any and all unenumerated powers deemed necessary by Congress to perform that function.
Q:I live in the central U.S and as you can imagine we get tornado's and most of the time they are not that awful like you see in the movies. However, they have been known to knock out power for a while. Last time this happened I had no power for 2 weeks. So I need a bicycle generator when the time comes. I need one that can power nessicities of a house which is mostly stove, lights, and etc. Please and Thank you.
Bicycle power generation will not produce enough power to do what you want. For about $400 you can buy a small generator to power computers and/or TV. For $15 you can buy an oil-powered hurricane lamp to provide light. For about $100 you can buy a portable gas or paraffin heater. These are far more suitable solutions for the same cost as what you propose.
