- Q: How difficult is it to find a job in real estate once I become certified?I am new to this so all the information would help. I know this probably wont be looked at when looking for work in real estate but for what its worth...I am a military vet, 4 yrs supervisory experience, BS in CJ, and enrolled to start my MBA in January. Like I said, any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
- Often in real estate depressions like the current period going back to the beginning of the Near Depression in Dec, '07, it's not hard to get hired, the hard part is getting the sales n listings that make the commish. One of the best ways around that prob is to know many financing options. In the RE depression of the early 1980's where interest rates were abt 17%, the mort cos got creative w/ graduated payment morts, adjustable rates, balloons, etc. One of the best was the combo of grad payment, adj rate. Some Realtors that mastered creative financing then did well, one reason being there was little competition from those offering conventional 30 yr fixed financing @ 17%. Know financing, know the local market, and most of all, listen to your customers [and everyone else in the biz who knows what they'r talking abt], but esp, your customers. ===== It's likely not hard to get hired, bc most realtors are independent contractors. The company usually pays them nothing and their sole income is from commish.
- Q: I have a BS in Information Systems from a private university. I'm currently working as an IT Analyst making 40k, I hate my job (although I'm grateful to have one in this economy). So far everyone who I've met who is in real estate sales loves their job. Are there day to day things that you hate? In my job for example, I am chained to my cubicle whether or not I have any work to do and I cannot do anything entertaining or I will be fired. This forces me to stare blankly at documents pretending that I am working. The minutes feel like hours.
- I have been self employed for over 20 years and I am much happier than I ever was when working for someone else. As long as you work for someone else you will have the very same problems again and again and you will probably always hate your job. I am not trying to be nagative but that is just a fact of life. Visit this site and look around. There are over 100 business ideas, including various real estate ventures. Who knows you may find exactly what you are looking for.
- Q: I have been looking into this for a while. Can you guys tell me the UPS and downs of this career? Or anything you know about real estate agents. Please and thank you :)
- To become a real estate agent you need to a peoples persons. You should love socializing, keeping long term relations and have strong interest in satisfying other people's need. These days no business works without IT knowledge. So you need to be tech savvy else you will be thrown out of the business, sooner or later. Real estate industry is quite volatile industry and sometimes agents go without any deal for months. One the agent who has steady income can afford to be a real estate agent. The rewards in the business are big, so when deals happen a lot of money comes. For that to happen you need loads of patience, commitment and intelligence. The sad part is that the entry barrier is so low that almost all become real estate on the side. So you face a lot of competition. But a good agent doesn't suffer when the market goes down, he captures market share.
- Q: Really broad question, I know, but what are the nuances, elements, and phases of real estate development? I'm writing a business paper for a competition, and I'm also thinking about being an RE developer when I'm older. Here's what I know about RE Development:1) Buy undeveloped land2) Hire contractors to build houses3) Sell houses for profitor1) Buy property (preferably distress property?)2) Fix/renovate3) Rent it out while waiting for market to get better4) Sell for profitThat's my layman's knowledge of RE Development. To be clear of my question, what are the details and fine points of real estate development? What do I need, besides money? What's the best way to get money to finance this? Thanks all
- EDIT: My apologies. I get the query now. :) If this church is constructing a mall so as to elevate cash, I'm no longer certain I might consider it. Though any individual above gave a few examples of church buildings that DID do it to elevate cash, so I wager it trusted what they used the money for. If any individual donates $X and the church turns it into $10X by some means after which is helping 10 instances extra individuals than they might have with the fashioned donation, I wager there are worse matters. On the opposite hand, if the leaders of that church use the money for themselves (e.g., shopping fine vehicles, and so on), I believe I might surely have a crisis. The above is all situated on if that church used to be truthfully MAKING any cash off of it; if they're truthfully wasting cash, I might like to understand their motivation. Though if they're wasting cash out of the undertaking, I gotta consider that no less than of their brain they have got a well purpose for doing this. If this church is, for illustration, activity this growth to support keep the field surrounding its headquarters or different predominant websites, and preserve it from getting run down, I'm happy with it. P.S. - I by no means concept the rationale of the query used to be to bash, sorry if I gave that impact. I simply misinterpret what you have been asking and concept a bit of explanation used to be so as. I fully grasp the query...FINALLY. ;-)

- Q: Hi, I love the field of real estate. I would really like to purchase some residential apartments homes and duplexes for income. What degree would be best for this and what other jobs could I do with this degree also average salary?
- 1) You don't love real estate. You really love money. 2) A degree would be useless. You learn about real estate by being involved with it and doing deals. 3) Your first deal should be your own home. 4) Your first tenant(s) can be rent-paying roommate(s) in your home. You'll be able to determine if you have the temperament to be a landlord in a low-risk manner. 5) Colleges offer real estate courses but they're no better than what you can learn from reading books at a public library.
- Q: Im going to invest in Real Estate on the side (mainly rental properties ).. Right now im getting my real estate license but im also finishing up a paralegal program. Which of these two jobs would be more beneficial to me as a real estate investor, becoming an agent and work with a broker then maybe become a broker, or work as a real estate paralegal?? (i live in wpb Florida)
- I think agent it better, though I'm not sure exactly what paralegal does (do they have access to the mls). If you are doing this on the side figure you've got to buy/ sell at least one property per year to cover the costs of having a license (assuming your commissions cover the costs, not talking about a flip here). However, access to the mls is crucial for me and whatever you do, make sure you have this.
- Q: I will be graduating college by 2020. Im currently going into 10th grade, but i've decided that I want to start a Real Estate business after college. I've decided it'd be best if I start planning everything out so I can have an early start after college, so what is currently the best state for a Real Estate business to grow and be successful now and how would it be by the year 2020? I have been thinking New York because of it's large population, but i've been told it's really expensive also.
