- Q: we are trying to reduce a solar panel from 9 volts to 3 volts. What do we need to make this work...

- Q: I have a 2 volt deep cylce Everstart battery with 845 cranking amps, and a Grape Solar GS-S-250-Fab5 250-Watt Monocrystalline Solar Panel . I use them to power a 48Flat screen TV, a Roku, my 65 watt consuming MacBook Pro, and a 65 watt Fan.I know from previous experience that just the battery, an inverter, and the fan, that the fan will blow for 0 hours straight.Should I really be concerned with a Charge Controller?
- Should I really be concerned with a Charge Controller? Yes. The main purpose of the charge controller is to protect the battery from over charging. Over charging reduces battery life. And spending extra money for a MPPT type controller will get more more useable power out of your solar panel. Would another battery of the same magnitude be helpful in preventing an accident? How much storage capacity does your current battery have (measured in kWH)? A ~$20 Kill-a-Watt meter would take a lot of uncertainty out of how much power you actually use. Even deep cycle batteries suffer reduced battery life from deep discharges. The battery sounds too small for the loads you describe so I would think you would want more. ---------------------------------------... After reading the other answer In a nutshell, with your small 2 volt starting battery, 24 volt panel and a mix of unknown loads, (which is correct), I thought I would elaborate. I had not considered the possibility that you bought a 24 volt panel for your 2 volt battery. Hooking the panel you bought directly to the current battery is a horrible idea. I you were lucky it would just cook the battery in a short period of time. You basically bought the wrong type of panel for a 2 volt system. I assume that there are no controllers on the the market for this situation. If that's the case, I don't know of any good way match the 24v panel to the 2 volt battery.
- Q: . Does it really only cost $200 in contrast to $5000 or more?2. How much would it cost to build panels that would energize an entire average household? (washer, dryer, water heater, lights, fans, a/c)3. Is there a place to get the info on how to make them for free instead of paying E4E?4. Are the professional solar panels better? more efficient? 5. Will the electric company in So. Cal. really pay you?6. Do you have to be certified to do this professionally? or an electrician? If so what schools teach it?7. Would wind generators be of any use in So. Cal.? I mean don't you really need to get the fan spinning to get energy?8. Are there any extra unseen costs? (tools, energy converter, ect)9. How much is it to get an electrician to hook you to the grid?0. Is it better to hook to batteries or the grid? Pros, cons, why?
- I believe Earth4Energy to be a bald-faced scam, selling plans that will not do what is implied in the marketing, and imparting no information that is not publicly available on the internet, already. If you were to search for solar panel on torrent sites, most likely, some disgruntled customer has posted the material. It probably violates the E4E copyright, so I'm not suggesting that you get it in this manner. I'm going to skip many of your questions, given my already-stated opinion of Earth4Energy. Professionally-installed panels have a net cost of thousands of dollars in general. While they can save money (and Southern Cal is an ideal place for this), consider that it generally takes 0 years or more to get your money back. If you're on S Cal Edison, or SD Gas and Electric, you can go on net metering. They don't really pay you, they credit your electric bill. After a year, if you used more electricity than you generated, you pay them. If you generated more than you used, they reset the balance to zero and say thanks for your donation. You never really get a check, like in some other states. But you should have lower electric bills. You can put up panels for your own use without any certification. To put up panels professionally, you'll need a C-0 contractor's license from the state, or will need to be under the supervision of someone with such a license. But if it's the latter, you might just be the grunt that carries the panels off the truck and up the ladder, for minimum wage. I'd say better than 95% of residentail solar is connected to the grid, if the grid is available. It's a clear winner. Who wants to pay 50% more for their system, just to have batteries that need their water and acid checked all the time? Below is one of many unsatisfied customers from Earth4Energy. Be careful in your search, people selling these reports have bought up the keywords such as scam and ripoff to direct you back to sites selling the product.
- Q: Do solar panels require cleaning?
- Yes, solar panels do require cleaning to maintain their efficiency. Dust, dirt, bird droppings, and other debris can accumulate on the surface of the panels, blocking sunlight and reducing their ability to generate electricity. Regular cleaning helps ensure optimal performance and maximizes the energy output of solar panels.
- Q: I want to know that, is there any thing likehow much charge we can get per square feet. in a solar panel.let me know.also, I will appreciate if reference are given.

- Q: I am thinking of buying a 3w solar panel called the nomad 3 from goal zero. I want to charge 35Wh lithum batteries. I have heard that lithium batteries are temperatmental and without a regulated current things could get ugly.I have a couple of chargers that came with the batteries. One is a 2v car charger and another is 0-240v wall charger.Goal zero sell something called a sherpa 50, which contains rechargeable batteries and an inverster and I think they suggest that I charge my batteries indirectly through the Sherpa 50, however, the sherpa 50 is expensive at $200, and seems to have a small capacity, in addition to being extra weight that i don`t want to carry.Electronics geniuses, you are my only hope.
- If you want to energy each USB ports on the identical times, It could not be possibble. Your sun panel best provides 2.24 Watts (20V * 0.2A) of energy and you ought to deliver 2.5 Watts (5V * 0.5A) to the ports. Subtracting any losses out of your regulator(s), you are going to be method over your vigor finances. You'll want extra of a sun panel or less of a load.
- Q: i want to charge my mytouch 3g with solar panel(s) it has a 500mah 3.7v 4.4wh batterieswhat do i need to charge it can i use RadioShack 0.5W Solar Panel 4.5V or RadioShack? W Solar Panel 4.5V
- see u have to make ur own ckt for this ur solar panel generate DC if u want to charge ur phine then its convenient way to harge with ur charger for this do this search for net to convert DC-AC convertor since ur charger work on AC so when ur solar panel generate DC it convert into AC that will charge ur phone in ckt u need this thing filter and amp ie the DC voltage come from solar panel 2 DC to AC convertor 3 AMP for AC 4 filter for AC and u are done....... fine ckt from google.....
- Q: I want to be more self sufficient and get solar panels for electricity in a small house any tips will help. i need to know how many watts is enough and ect.
- It's depends on how many electrical appliances at home. For small house average need 800-200 watts electricity. The average solar panel kits produce 75-50 watts depending on the size of the panel. You needs minimum 5 solar panels.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a restaurant or food service establishment?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a restaurant or food service establishment. Many businesses in the food industry have successfully adopted solar energy systems to power their operations and reduce their electricity costs. Installing solar panels on rooftops or in parking lots can provide a sustainable and renewable energy source for the establishment, helping to lower its carbon footprint and contribute to a greener future.
- Q: trees vs solar panels who would win?
- Trees for sure. Their already plotting the overthrow of humans.
