- Q: they are pretty expensive. So does it save you money on electricity in the long run? How easy is it to connect solar panels to your house?
- I did. image voltaic capability components approximately seventy 5% of my electricity and decreased my electric powered invoice from approximately $a hundred and twenty/month to basically $35/month. I won a rebate from my state and a few tax deductions so my internet out-of-pocket value became approximately $6000. I stored a team of money via doing lots of the installation myself. As of right this moment my gadget has generated sixteen.5 megawatt hours of electricity simply by fact it became put in. the internet web page the place i offered the gadget is indexed decrease than and likewise an particularly stable mag on residential image voltaic capability is indexed decrease than. the two websites have very stable tutorials for human beings questioning approximately image voltaic. additionally based upon the place you reside wind capability could be an particularly stable option for you. in case you have a stable wind source it is going to be a greater value-effective thank you to generate capability.
- Q: How do solar panel power systems work?
- The panels soak up the energy from the sun and then convert the energy into power, electricity, etc. They can also store a lot of energy so that we still have power on cloudy days. Does that help? Without more info, its hard to get more specific.
- Q: a) i'd like to get a solar panel to make this thing i saw in popular science, it was a bag that had a solar panel in the side (you just attach it with grommets into a clear vinyl pocket you make. its for charging elecronics and stuff) and i was wondering what kind i should look at, do they come flexible? can i get them on OKorder? what kind of wattage should i look for (btw it also had a little voltage regulator and stuff to make a little usb in your bag) so any info on that!b) i was thinking about like putting solar panels on my roof, where can i look into that, is that a good choice, has anyone done it, how did it work out? thank you, just curious
- answering b) your home circutry won't be able to handle solar power energy (or your circut breaker,it will start cuttin out every 5 min)you would have to replace your home circutry(that costs a LOT of money, over $8500)
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a sloped roof?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a sloped roof. In fact, sloped roofs are a common choice for solar panel installations as they offer an optimal angle for capturing sunlight. However, it is important to consider the pitch and orientation of the roof to ensure maximum efficiency and proper installation.
- Q: If I put a 5000 watt solar panel kit on my roof in Dublin (Ireland) - how much electricity would I realistically expect to get?An educated guess at a percentage of 5000w would do.
- Note that aiming is important - the sun is going to be perpendicular to the panels for only a few hours a year unless they are on an adjustable mount, so picking the time you most want power should be a factor in the angle they are mounted at - you can't keep the highest level of sun for summer into the winter time when the sun is much lower in the sky for a shorter time.
- Q: Can solar panels be recycled?
- Yes, solar panels can be recycled.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on warehouses?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on warehouses. In fact, warehouses are ideal locations for solar panel installations due to their large roof spaces that can accommodate a significant number of panels. The ample sunlight exposure and lack of shading make warehouses a perfect fit for harnessing solar energy. Additionally, solar panels on warehouses can help reduce electricity costs and contribute to a greener, more sustainable energy source.
- Q: I know the basics of how solar panels work. Solar panels convert sunlight into DC electricity which is stored in batteries which would need to be run through an inverter to convert it to household AC. But is there a way for the appliances to use the solar panels electricity FIRST and any additional power from the grid? Is that how it works or do they only run specific devices(water heater, pool pump, etc)?
- The batteries are inefficient and expensive. Lead acid batteries are 95% efficient at discharging but only 50% efficient at charging so you need double your power consumption in solar panels for a battery based system. The big breakthrough was in grid tied inverters, these can be connected to the grid and synchronizes it's frequency to the grid thereby selling the solar power to the grid. The house electric system remains on the grid so you buy back the power when you need it effectively turning the grid into a 00% efficient battery by accounting. This saves you the cost of the batteries and the inefficiencies of the batteries halving the number of panels that you need. Grid tied solar can be a third the price of a comparable battery based system. The utilities will usually still have a service fee and may have limitations such as you can only sell the amount of power that you use and the sale can only be credits versus future energy purchases. There will also be the inefficiencies of the grid tied inverter but it would be at full load which is when it is the most efficient often 95% whereas the partial load use of a battery based system operates the inverter at an average of 65% efficiency which is why DC appliances are highly recommended for a battery based system.
- Q: Harbor Freight sells a 75 watt solar panel, a surge power inverter, and deep charge batteries. But no one there can tell me how to put it all together. I want the end output to be a simple power bar that I can plug my devices into. I live in an apartment so I can not wire it directly into the grid. Please only serious responses. Don't waste your time and mine.
- I don't have direct experience with the Harbor Freight panels, but have heard that they are agressively rated - i.e., the three 5-watt panels are really 5-watt panels. The 80-watt panel is likely to be a serious panel, rated according to standard test conditions. It will also be more durable, and probably have a warranty of 20 years or more. There's really no comparison. If your goal is to experiment with solar electricity, then get the kit from Harbor Freight (or Northern Tool, or any of a handful of other places). If your goal is to save money, generally you will need a larger scale than 80 watts - several thousand watts being the norm. And the payback time will be measured in years.
- Q: How do solar panels withstand hail and other extreme weather conditions?
- Solar panels are designed to withstand various weather conditions, including hail and extreme weather. They are typically made with durable materials such as tempered glass, which is highly resistant to hail damage. Additionally, the panels undergo rigorous testing to ensure their ability to withstand high winds, snow loads, and extreme temperatures. The frames and mounting systems used to secure the panels also contribute to their resilience against severe weather. Overall, solar panels are built to be robust and reliable, enabling them to endure hail and other extreme weather conditions.
