FAQ:

Q1: Why buy Materials & Equipment from OKorder.com?

A: All products offered byOKorder.com are carefully selected from China's most reliable manufacturing enterprises. Through its ISO certifications, OKorder.com adheres to the highest standards and a commitment to supply chain safety and customer satisfaction.

Q2: What is a solar PV module?

A: A solar PV module consists of many solar cells that are connected together (typically in series) and packaged in a frame (typically made of aluminum).

Q3: What are the advantages and disadvantages of monocrystalline solar PV modules?

A: Monocrystalline solar PV modules are the most efficient type of solar PV modules, with the exception of CdTe thin film solar PV modules. As a result, monocrystalline solar PV modules are more expensive when compared to almost all other types of solar PV modules.

Q: Given that I am going to purchase a solar panel to charge my cell phones and other gadgets, I would like to know what the ammount of power produced by a 6 Watt solar panel is under regular circumstances. (IE partial sun, full sun, cloudy)
That site tells you somewhat about the cost of solar panels and their MAXIMUM output. Now some who have these panels claim output, in daily terms, 8 times as great as maximum output, which says they are counting on 8 hours of effective sunlight. In California Desert that is sound. You will discover that Ontario Power grid is planning for 3 hours to 4 hours of maximum output . Based on that 3 to 4 hours of maximum output, it would take close to 20 years to recover your cost at the price Ontario pays for solar power. The deal locks you in so that you can not get more money as electricity prices go up, and do not lose if electricity prices go down over that 20 years.
Q: When you get solar panels do you connect them to the grid?
Sort of. They need to be connected to an inverter that changes the solar panel's DC electricity into AC electricity and it has to be synchronized with the phase of the power grid's AC. It must be done by a licensed electrician.
Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with limited sunlight?
Yes, solar panels can still be used in areas with limited sunlight. While solar panels are most effective in areas with abundant sunlight, advancements in technology have made it possible to generate some amount of electricity even in areas with limited sunlight. Additionally, solar panels can still be viable in these areas if combined with energy storage solutions or connected to the grid, allowing for a more reliable and consistent electricity supply.
Q: A few months ago my dad said something about getting solar panels, and how green they were. I was just wondering if there were any companies that sold them and if they would actually make a big difference.

Q: I would like to know how do you build a solar panel?
There are several types of solar panels. If you mean photovoltaic panels for generating electricity, that is a really advanced project that few amateurs are equipped to do. In the long run, it will be a lot cheaper and easier to buy factory made PV panels. You can try building one by sandwiching an array of photovoltaic cells between a sheet of glass or plexiglass and a sheet of aluminum. Remember that this assembly must be able to withstand great heat, and it must be sealed to make absolutely sure it does not leak. So basically, you need to lay out the PV cells and wire them together to get the desired voltage and current, with some arrangement to allow the wires to extend outside without leaking. Then you enclose the panel around all four edges with aluminum channel and seal with silicone sealer. Lay it on thick and test thoroughly with water hoses to eliminate all leaks. As mentioned, it's easier and cheaper to buy them factory made. If you mean a heat collector for a solar house heating system or hot water system, that is just a matter of building a thin, flat aluminum box with a glass lid. For hot air, you just need to circulate the air through the box when the sun is shining. For water, you need to have some arrangement to pass the water through the compartment in thin walled metal tubing. You won't be surprised when I say it's cheaper to buy one factory made. Good luck.
Q: i am very much interested in making a solar panel, my problem is where i can acquire the main components in order to build it, i am staying here in abu dhabi UAE i'm always searching on the internet for shops that can provide me a DIY kit but i did not find one, i need somebody who knows where i can get these things, please let me know.

Q: I am in need of solar panels and the batteries that I can store the energy in. I need to be able to run a laptop, cell phone, and LED lights from it. When I research I see all sorts of options with regards to watts, VMPs, and AMPs. I also see that I may need a controller, an inverter, and various other components. Can anyone help me through these terms and what i need to know in order to efficiently generate and store the electricity. Thanks
Unlike what most people seem to think, solar panels are not advanced enough to power day to day objects that we use, with the sun that we see in a day. You would need mass amounts of panels and equipment. IF there is a smaller solutions (which I doubt would do what you're asking yet) it would cost thousands of dollars. Panels are not there yet, and the ones that are, are still in development or being guarded from release to the public. The most you'll get out of a few hundred bucks and panels is a lit garden for a few hours at night. Go buy rechargeable batteries.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on mobile homes?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on mobile homes.
Q: I was thinking about getting some GE Solar Panels and on there website that I am on, I didn't really see a price. can anybody give me maybe an estimate on how much each one would cost? thanks
Retail, between $5 to $6 /watt.
Q: i need to know wat the parts of a solar panel are.
For a photo electric system you need 3 basic things. Photo voltaic Solar panels the quantity determined by you need and a charge controller for the cells they are rated by current. Batteries the quantity determined by your needs. Last an inverter to convert 2 volts DC to 20-220 AC. The size shown in watts is determined by you needs. If you plan to use it all the time you will have to have piece of equipment usually part of the inverter to sync the inverter up with the public utility and any power you don't use gets sold to the power supplier. That our a manual switch which will not allow you to sell unused power to the power company. If you are thinking about this do your home work and if possible contact it out. This is not a good first time DIY especially since you are asking this question. No offense. Otherwise you will need to do some reading and studying. But no matter what there are parts that an electrician will have to do by law and you may need a permit depending on where you live.
