The Model 382S offers a unique combination of versatility and capacity. It has a dual-cam workhead for grinding both odd (1, 3, 5 & 7) and even (2, 4, 6, 8 & 10) numbered flutes and the large capacity of the Model 380. The Model 380 workhead has only even-fluted capability.

The Model 382S is available in semi-automatic and automatic infeed versions.

Selected Optional Accessories

Semi-Automatic Version (Standard for Model 382S)

The power-driven workhead of the semi-automatic version offers a quiet, smooth rotation of the workhead. Manual effort is reduced for heavier grinding and spin grinding operations. Spark out is allowed to occur by using a minimum of manual infeed along with a reduction in workhead rotation speed. The speed is controlled by a conveniently located valve; the adjacent four-way valve allows grinding in either direction. A hand knob on the workhead is used for indexing and setup.
Automatic Infeed System

The semi-automatic versions can also be equipped with the automatic infeed system. This can increase productivity by allowing the operator to do other nearby tasks while the drill is being ground. The system allows manual or semi-automatic grinding of all tool grinding, and use of the automatic infeed for standard drill points, countersinks and reamers. The grinding rate is adjustable and the counter can be preset for 1-99 cycles. An electroplated CBN wheel (standard) is used with the automatic infeed and requires no dressing. Larger, three-phase motors are standard and an ammeter is provided to monitor the grinding load.

Overhead Wheel Dresser

Timesaving option allows truing of the grinding wheel O.D. without changing the setup. (Not for use with diamond or CBN wheels).

Features:
Sealed linear bearing with hardened guide shafts
Downfeed with ball detent in .001" increments
High-quality diamond included for truing standard and ceramic wheels
Hardened downfeed screw with wiper seal

Q: I have Crohns disease should I be working around machinery i.e. screw machines?
crohns is an inflammatory auto-immune disease, and cannot be caught or transmitted.however,it is adversaly affected by stress-if u feel ur job is overwhelmingly stressful, that can bring on an attack of crohns.if u are happy on ur job,and not constantly stressed, then no reason to quit.
Q: I don't know which to do. What advances better? Also i would plan on trying to get into OCS before im 34 and be an officer in one of these jobs, which one?
Winechan has zero experience or understanding of how the Coast Guard works - or the military in general. Speaking PURELY of numbers, there are many more MK's in the Coast Guard than there are SK's - so by the NUMBERS, more MK's will be advanced each year than SK's. The PERCENTAGE of people being advanced remain pretty close to the same for all ratings in the Coast Guard, so there really isn't a difference in advancement rates. Don't forget that to go to OCS, you will have to either have a four-year college degree, which is hard to get in the Coast Guard within your first couple of enlistments - OR - you'll have to be at least an E-5, with five years of Time in Service (and be on your second enlistment or later), with at least two years of college. Neither of these programs (regular OCS applications or TEMP commission OCS applications) are forgiving about age and age-related waivers, so make sure you can get the college and be able to apply at LEAST three or more times before you stand any realistic chance of being accepted. I've known folks that applied five and more times (the record I saw was EIGHT times!!) before being accepted to OCS. There is about a 10% chance of being accepted each time you apply... so it isn't easy. The FS officer (Finance and Supply) field is very small - a LOT of the officer-type functions are done by Warrant Officers. Engineering Officers (EO's) are more numerous, but they don't turn wrenches or actually work on machinery. Look at it this way: which field interests you more? Would you rather sit in a warehouse and count beans or be in oily bilges, turning wrenches? Some people LOVE one or the other, and rarely love the idea of BOTH career fields. Brian Raini
Q: a manager has to make a choice in whether to have specialized machinery needing fewer workers or general machinery requiring more workers to operate it effectively.
A manager should choose the lowest cost long term production/operating method as long as all other selection requirements are met.
Q: Anyone know of a reputable place to buy plastic injection molding machinery and auxiliary equipment?
I okorder - Hope this helps!
Q: Should I operate heavy machinery?
I love the name too. You should operate with heavy machinery. I do on my patients. Sydney's one of my patients.
Q: Friction generates heat and causes wear and tear in machinery yet friction is often needed. Explain briefly?
Friction is needed for most things to move. Although it causes the tires to wear out, the car will not be able to move if there is no friction. It will just slip off the surface of the road. A man cannot walk if the ground is frictionless. The shoes will not get grip on the ground and the man will slip.
Q: Anyone know anything about Machinery Technician (MK) in the coast guard reserves? Is it true they would train you on working with engines? Anyone know if positions are guaranteed in CG or no? The website says 12 weeks in Yorktown, VA, *or* on the job training, has anyone ever gotten on the job training for this position instead and where at?
