PVC foam sheet , aka Expanded PVC foam sheet , also known as foamed polyvinyl chloride, has an extraordinary combination of features that make it ideal for signage, exhibits, store displays, POP, kiosks, screen printing and more. The surface is a smooth matte finish that makes it ideal to paint or laminate. Sheets are tough, high-strength and lightweight, and can be ordered in a wide range of sizes, thicknesses and colors. PVC foam sheet is recommended for industrial and commercial signage. It readily accepts virtually any form of graphic overlay (print, paint and photo mounting). Pvc foam sheet is also easy to cut and shape, making it a strong choice for three-dimensional exhibits, displays and stage sets.

- Q: I just bought a piece of mdf that i cut to the size i need, not to make my table complete i need to find some plastic to go on top (exactly like how you buy study desks from the shops. its that very thin sheet that just covers the table) I also would like an unusual colout like pale light green or white) i could not find the table size that is right for me so i made it myself by just adding it on top of my old table.
- This may not quite be what you are looking for but why not check out 'Formica' type counter/table top products at places like Home Depot? You might find something close to the colour you want and get advice in regards to fastening it in place.
- Q: I've been doing it the cheap way, with a manilla folder and I've also used a couple of mylar sheets. Obviously the mylar works best, but the folder gets the job done pretty good. Any suggestions on other materials?
- Anything that is made of plastic, that can be cut with an Exato knife ( or a hot wood burning stencil cutter ) will work.Even your stencils cut out of folders will work better if you shellac the stencil first. This prevents the paint penetrating the stencil. If you are stenciling on glass, such as in glass etching with glass etch cream, ordinary contact paper will work. If you are making stencils that you want to keep and reuse, Mylar plastic is the best. Cutting a stencil is a lot of work. You should use a material that will allow you use it repeatably.
