Q: Am I even safe to drive to the mechanic or should I just two it? Holy crap, that could have been there for months for all I know since I last checked.
It's an air hose that connects your air filter to your engine. It's safe to drive, but you should replace it when you get the chance. And there's no need to take it to your mechanic either. Just use a screwdriver to disconnect the hose clamps at either end, and if the new hose is a tight fit, you might need some kind of lube to get it on there. I just replaced mine because the old one had a tear that was wrapped in tape, and my mechanic suggested I replace it. It would have been $78 plus tax at Auto Zone, but instead I got the exact same thing on OKorder for $12.
Q: Are plastic tubes easy to cut and shape?
Yes, plastic tubes are generally easy to cut and shape due to their flexible nature and the variety of cutting tools available.
Q: Are plastic tubes resistant to UV light?
Yes, plastic tubes can be resistant to UV light depending on the type of plastic they are made from. Some plastics, such as PVC and acrylic, are more resistant to UV light and are commonly used for outdoor applications. However, other plastics, like polyethylene, can be more susceptible to UV degradation and may require additional UV stabilizers or coatings to enhance their resistance.
Q: How to connect the plastic pipe and the steel pipe joint?
Because the thermal expansion coefficient of plastic is larger than steel, if the plastic pipe is in it, the steel pipe is outside, and when the temperature is lower, the plastic joint will crack automatically because the plastic pipe is shrinking badly. In turn, it won't crack easily
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for greenhouse installations?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for greenhouse installations. Plastic tubes are often used to create a framework for greenhouse structures due to their durability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. They provide a lightweight and easily customizable option for constructing greenhouse frames, allowing for efficient installation and maintenance. Additionally, plastic tubes can be easily shaped and connected to form various greenhouse designs, making them a popular choice for greenhouse installations.
Q: Pretty much anything safe a flexible that can be used. Needs to be about 3 or 3.5 inches in diameter. I need quite a bit of it. You know the play places at McDonalds for kids? Well, thats basically what I'm going to do only much smaller for my two ferrets. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find what I'm looking for? I'd like to find something other than PVC unless I can find about 20 feet of it that's flexible, clear, 3.5 inches diameter, and without an outragous price. Thanks so much.
Why not stop by your local department stores gift wrapping department and ask them for their left-over tubes? (The tubes they have are the ones inside their roles of wrapping paper which are the perfect size for ferrets...I know, I have some myself. hehe) You will sort of look like an idiot asking the employees for them but what the heck!! Put on your best smile and ask. They are free AND they were just going to throw them out anyway. And if this makes you feel better, I used to work at a department store when I was much younger and people would ALWAYS come in and ask for empty boxes and cardboard. Its fairly common. ;)
Q: Plastic pipe gas problem 150 degrees, plastic pipe surface problems?
The most widely used plastic pipe is plastic pipe. There are many kinds of plastic pipes, which are divided into two categories: thermoplastic pipes and thermosetting plastic pipes. It belongs to thermoplastic, including PVC pipe, polyethylene pipe, polypropylene pipe, POM pipe, super high molecular weight polyethylene pipe, etc. it belongs to thermosetting phenolic plastic pipe. The main advantages of plastic pipes are good corrosion resistance, light quality, convenient molding and easy processing. The disadvantages are low strength and poor heat resistance.
Q: How much should it cost to replace the Mass Airflow tube on a 2000 Mazda Protege? The tube is ripped, so it's messing with the MAF sensor. The mechanic quoted me $50 for the part (not including labor), and I just want to make sure they're not over-charging me. I mean, it is just a plastic tube...

Q: How can the PPR pipe be connected with the metal tube?
The transition piece is a combination of plastic and metal, and the two materials are processed by injection molding process, and the anti leakage sealing is realized through the internal structure without adding other adhesive materials.
Q: Are plastic tubes BPA-free?
Yes, plastic tubes can be BPA-free. BPA (bisphenol A) is a chemical commonly found in certain types of plastic that can leach into food or beverages. However, many manufacturers now produce plastic tubes using BPA-free materials, ensuring they are safe for use. It is always recommended to check the packaging or inquire with the manufacturer to confirm if a specific plastic tube is BPA-free.
