- tempera paint with NEVER stop chipping. All paints has something called a binder, which is it's main ingredient from which it was made. Tempera is a poor quality paint whose binder is egg yolk. This is why it chips when dried. Tempera paint is common among children since they have no real talent for painting and tempera is a lot cheaper (due to chipping) so its perfect for them. No sense in wasting expensive quality paint on them unless its highschool possibly 8th grade and up. If your making quality art work try acrylic, it's more expensive but worth it
- Q: shine like car paint but how?
- First you need a paint or finish that is full gloss. Then you need one that is abradable. (Poly is not very abradable). Applying that finish or paint will get you as glossy as you can get off the gun or off the brush. Normally this is about 85-90 degrees on a scale of 0-100. Let it cure for several weeks, then polish with progressively finer abrasives like auto rubbing compounds.

- Grass-roots inspection: check the base layer or leveling layer surface is smooth, solid, no oil, no disease, no hollowing, crack, no water. The above problems should be handled well before construction.
