A much better, if slightly more costly option is PEX. It has been around in Europe for many years, is extremely rugged, and very easy to use.

- Q: I moved to West Virginia a couple years ago. I am not used to drive in snow at all so I tried not to drive in snow but last winter I had to go out in a deep snow and I almost had bad accidents twice in one day going down the hill. I am terribly frightened to drive in snow. Watching snow on TV even makes me feel so depressed thinking about coming winter.I have BMW X5 AWD with M/S tires. Going up the hill is no problem but down the hill, especially stopping, making turns in the middle of the steep hill is TERRIBLE.I slipped, turned around and went down hill backwards, almost went down the cliff with my 3 small children in a car.I will still try not to drive on snowy days but in case I need to go out..,what do I need to do to avoid this? You can give it additional structure by running a cable tie through each side of cardboard and around the pipe. This will give you support and still should be light enough to wield.
