Q: What is the average payback period for solar panels?
The average payback period for solar panels is typically between 6 to 10 years. However, this can vary depending on various factors such as the initial cost of installation, location, energy consumption, government incentives, and local electricity rates.
Q: Can solar panels be used for powering water treatment plants?
Yes, solar panels can be used for powering water treatment plants. Solar energy can be harnessed and converted into electricity to operate the various processes involved in water treatment, such as filtration, disinfection, and pumping. This renewable energy source can help reduce reliance on fossil fuels, lower operational costs, and contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly water treatment process.
Q: So how does a solar panel work? Where does the energy get stored in? How much does one cost for a small 2 family home? How much money would we save on electricity?
In the short, a solar panel is composed of many solar cells...all tied together and in some sort of a frame for mounting. When energy from the sun hits it, it creates a reaction which can feed electricity through leads to a converter system which takes the Direct Current power and converts it into Alternating Current. If you rewire your house for DC products I suppoes you wo'nt need the converter. but most of these systems are retro-fits. Batteries provide back up source to the system when the sun goes down. So solar is converted to electricity through the panel, which goes to your solar system which both provides power to the house and to recharge batteries. The batteries take over when the sun is down. So you will need to know how much battery capacity you need by calculating the Amp hour rating of your applicances that you normally use at night like Microwave, TV, radio, refrigerator, etc. For some depending on the appliance....water heater (if electric) or stove) then you need to figure out how many panels you need to provide your normal daily energy use, figure out how many batteries you need, set up a distribution system that gives you what you need where you want it and wa la. Once done, you will be off the grid and paying nothing from the electrical utility. Some places due to deregulations allow you to sell excess power to local utilities too, but those systems need to meet tight standards.
Q: Polycrystalline solar panels are good or single crystal solar energy is good
Polycrystalline silicon solar cell production process and monocrystalline silicon solar cell almost, but the polysilicon solar cell photoelectric conversion efficiency will have to reduce a lot of its photoelectric conversion efficiency of about 12% (
Q: I mean when light hits the solar panel where does the energy go and what does it become? Be specific.
image voltaic panels take the ability from the sunlight's easy this is extra extreme than say a easy bulb and utilising the chemical homes of (i think that's a silicon and carbon based fabric) the fabric to rework the easy(yet no longer warmth) into electric powered ability. it could basically use very particular wavelengths this is why image voltaic cells are nowhere close to useful. oo i forgot the 2nd area that's maximum suitable to place nevertheless status cells to the place they are going to receive easy the final public of the day (distinctly the early afternoon) and that's as direct as achievable. so some distance as business form cells they are fastened on structures which turn them by way of fact the sunlight strikes around the sky so as that they receive the main direct achievable easy
Q: I am intrested in buying solar panels to save a buck and even maek some money off of it but I was wondering what kind? How Much? How Many? Are they easy to install? Whats the best brand? I want alot of information on this if anyone can give me some help on it in a user friendly way it would be appreciated!
If okorder and search for solar panels, they list companies that sell solar panels and you can compare prices there.
Q: Can solar panels be used to power a space station?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a space station. Solar panels convert sunlight directly into electricity, and in space, where there is no atmosphere to scatter or absorb sunlight, they can generate a significant amount of power. Several space stations, including the International Space Station (ISS), rely on solar panels to generate electricity for various systems and experiments.
Q: Harbor Freight sells a 75 watt solar panel, a surge power inverter, and deep charge batteries. But no one there can tell me how to put it all together. I want the end output to be a simple power bar that I can plug my devices into. I live in an apartment so I can not wire it directly into the grid. Please only serious responses. Don't waste your time and mine.
I don't have direct experience with the Harbor Freight panels, but have heard that they are agressively rated - i.e., the three 5-watt panels are really 5-watt panels. The 80-watt panel is likely to be a serious panel, rated according to standard test conditions. It will also be more durable, and probably have a warranty of 20 years or more. There's really no comparison. If your goal is to experiment with solar electricity, then get the kit from Harbor Freight (or Northern Tool, or any of a handful of other places). If your goal is to save money, generally you will need a larger scale than 80 watts - several thousand watts being the norm. And the payback time will be measured in years.
Q: Can solar panels be damaged by hail?
Yes, solar panels can be damaged by hail. Hailstones can cause cracks or breaks in the glass surface of solar panels, potentially reducing their efficiency or causing them to stop working altogether. However, the extent of damage largely depends on the size and intensity of the hailstorm, as well as the quality and durability of the solar panels.
Q: okay so my teacher is trying to install a solar panel but we have a problem we don't know where to ground it because it will be a movil house. guys do you have any ideas?
