Physical properties[edit]

Polyethylene is a thermoplasticpolymer consisting of long hydrocarbon chains. Depending on the crystallinity and molecular weight, a melting point and glass transition may or may not be observable. The temperature at which these occur varies strongly with the type of polyethylene. For common commercial grades of medium- and high-density polyethylene the melting point is typically in the range 120 to 180 °C (248 to 356 °F). The melting point for average, commercial, low-density polyethylene is typically 105 to 115 °C (221 to 239 °F).it is transprant.

Chemical properties[edit]

Most LDPE, MDPE and HDPE grades have excellent chemical resistance, meaning that it is not attacked by strong acids or strong bases. It is also resistant to gentle oxidants and reducing agents. Polyethylene burns slowly with a blue flame having a yellow tip and gives off an odour of paraffin. The material continues burning on removal of the flame source and produces a drip.[3] Crystalline samples do not dissolve at room temperature. Polyethylene (other than cross-linked polyethylene) usually can be dissolved at elevated temperatures in aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene or xylene, or in chlorinated solvents such as trichloroethane or trichlorobenzene.[4]

Q: GFs birthday coming up and I want to give her something special... any suggestions as to what I can make?
Make her a mask. Cut holes out for the eyes and mouth, Attack the spoons to the side for the ears, Curly straws on the head for antenna's, and use the toothpaste tube as either a mustache or a nose.
Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for packaging electronics or electrical components?
Yes, plastic tubes are suitable for packaging electronics or electrical components. They provide excellent protection against moisture, dust, and static electricity, ensuring the safety and integrity of the components during storage and transportation. Additionally, plastic tubes can be easily customized to accommodate various sizes and shapes of electronics, offering flexibility and convenience in packaging.
Q: What is the hard plastic material?
PPS, the Chinese name is pps. The utility model has the advantages of hard and crisp, high crystallinity, burning resistance, good thermal stability, high mechanical strength, good electrical performance, etc..
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for packaging cosmetics?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for packaging cosmetics. They are commonly used for various cosmetic products such as creams, lotions, gels, and lip balms due to their flexibility, durability, and ability to protect the product from contamination and air exposure.
Q: How are plastic tubes affected by temperature changes?
Plastic tubes can be affected by temperature changes in different ways. Extreme heat can cause them to expand, potentially leading to changes in shape or size. On the other hand, extreme cold can cause the tubes to contract, which may also affect their dimensions. Additionally, fluctuating temperatures can lead to the degradation or weakening of the plastic material over time. Therefore, it is important to choose a plastic material that can withstand the specific temperature range it will be exposed to in order to minimize any adverse effects.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for storing cleaning agents or detergents?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for storing cleaning agents or detergents. Plastic tubes are commonly used for packaging various products, including cleaning agents and detergents, due to their durability, flexibility, and resistance to chemical substances. They provide a safe and convenient container for storing and dispensing these products while ensuring their quality and preventing leakage.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for gas transportation?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for gas transportation.
Q: me and my father were trying to fix a leaf blower(the cord you have to pull will come out but won't go in) and ran into a few problems. we had to pull the whole thing apart to get to it, and along with pulling everything off we had to take off the switches that handle choke and run, and the tubes connected to this device were corroded from gas left in the leaf blower. where can i buy this tubing, and some sealant for the tubes? i DO NOT want a website that i can order them from, i want an ACTUAL store in the Dallas fort worth area.
i don't live in texas but try home depot or lowes they always have something good their
Q: I have a winter white hamster, and he always sleeps in his plastic tubes.Should i be worried? Im afraid ther is not enough air flow......Well? Should i be worried? Additional Details?
Don't worry. As long as he comes out, you know there must be enough air in his tubes. But seriously don't worry. He probabLy just hasn't found that nesting place yet, he will find one within the next couple weeks. And maybe it's a comforting place for him, a place where he feels safe. But if you want him to come out more often, try giving him some treats. Basically, use treats as a sign that he can feel safe outside the tube too. Hope this helps!
