- Q: I noticed some of my teeth begin to form a cavity. Its still in its early stages so I believe I can still prevent any further development by tooth remineralization. The question is how do you do that? I herd you supposed to buy this special tooth paste that you apply on your teeth at night and leave it there, I' am guessing the paste has calcium and other minerals that help restore the tooth. Does anyone have any idea?
- I have never heard of this stuff. Are you talking about Crest ProHealth Night? It's toothpaste specifically formulated for your closed mouth environment during sleep. If you are noticing your cavities, you really need to go to the dentist and get them dealt with. I have had quite a few cavities (due to a mouth environment issue, it's not like I don't brush well or after meals! :) and I've never known about any of them untill after my dentist told me I had them-- never noticed them by myself. Since you can see yours It may not actually be that early staged. If it is really early stages, you can get your cavity air abraided. This is really really easy for you and your dentist! Its like airbrushing pain onto a t-shirt, except its little ceramic microbeads hitting your cavity. The power is strong enough to take away the decay but leaves the nice tooth behind. Its really not bad, and you really should go to the dentist. Talk to your dental assistant if you are nervous, and talk to the financing director if you don't really have the cash on hand to pay right now. Both of those people can help SO SO much. Good luck!
