- Q: My son ahs a quot;letter bagquot; day at school and I was wanting to make cannoli's for the classI can't for the life of me find cannoli forms/ tubes ANYWHERE close enough for me to go get and have them made by FRIDAY!!! PLEASE HELP!!
- I would not use foil! If you can't find cannoli shells in the store, make your own cannoli cones2 egg whites 1/3 cup all-purpose flour 1/3 cups sugar 2 tablespoons butter, melted 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Spray a cookie sheet with nonstick spray In a mixing bowl combine egg whites, flour, sugar, melted butter, and vanillaStir until smoothDrop batter by teaspoonfuls, about 4 inches apart, on cookie sheetSpread each to make 3-1/2-inch circles(Bake 3 or 4 cookies at a time.) Bake in a 375 degree F oven about 6 minutes or until bottoms of cookies are lightly brownedImmediately loosen cookies from cookie sheetTurn over and roll up each to form a coneCool on a wire rack, seam side down(If cookies become too stiff to roll, return briefly to oven to soften.) Repeat with remaining batter.
- Q: Gun: Taurus 1911; .45 ACP-Apprx150 rounds firedFirst off, I noticed the mags fitting quite snug with the full 8 rounds8+1 in the chamber feels downright uncomfortable when inserting the magThe round at the top of the mag gets chewed and nicked up at timesThe malfunction: casings jamming in the slideoften the extractor gripping the rimA few times, I fired, it cycled, and looked ready to fire again, but the trigger wouldn't breakAnother similar situation present a trigger that seemed as before (like it wouldn't break) but unexpectedly didIt was definitely more poundage than it should requireThe ammo: Remington FMJ 230, Winchester FMJ 230, Speer Gold Dot 230 HP, CCI Blazer Aluminum NR 230 FMJThe worst was CCI blazerIts rate of malfunction was highestAll in all, the barrel looks like the casings have beat it to hellSome of the casings are pushed in at the top after malfunctionsI can't really find any info addressing this specificallyAny input is appreciated.
- So, the first thing I would check is whether this happens if you only put 7 rounds into the magazineWhen you slide the magazine into the pistol, the top round butts up against the bottom of the slide and is pressed down a bitWhen the pistol fires, the slide runs back with the empty shell which hits the extractor, kicks the brass away and then continues far enough back to let the shell pop up and get caught to run forward into the barrelSo, if the magazine is too full and is applying too much force to the slide it can prevent the slide from going back far enough to properly extract the spent shell, but could still try and grab the top round in the mag and create the jamThe barrel is made out of tempered steel though - brass and aluminum shouldn't be anywhere near hard enough to mar up the barrelThere also sounds like there is something else wrong with your slide if the trigger reset isn't happening right Assuming this continues with only 7 rounds in the magazine then there is definitely something wrong with your firearm and you need to contact Taurus for warranty repairThinkingblade
- Q: Are you suppose to poke holes at the bottom of the aluminum pans if you're planting vege seeds?
- yes, you need drainagewhy are you using aluminum pans? There are a few other options out there as far as containers gothere's even tutorials on how to make biodegradable paper pots for seedlingsyou can get cardboard pots that will eventually disintergrate when you replant in the ground, .
- Q: A sheet of aluminum foil has an area of 1.000 ft^2 and a mass of 3.616gwhat is the thickness of the aluminum foil in millimeters? (density of Al equals 2.699 g/cm^3)I would really appreciate the help
- The foil is simply a very thin rectangular objectThis problem is more about unit conversions than anything elseTo get the volume, divide the mass of the aluminum by the density, that gives you a volume with units of cm3The volume of the foil is its area thicknessConvert 1 ft2 to cm2Calculate the thickness in cm, convert the thickness to mmI get 0.0144 mm
- Q: Ok, lets say thisWhat if scrap yards all over town pays you $5 per pound on Aluminum Cans during Recycling pick up day just for 1 daythe town law says taking them from bins is illegal and fines are very low.Is there going cause problems in traffic and lines? Is there going be 100's of people be out in the early morning and breaking in recycle bins taking aluminum cans and/or finding them from streets? Is there going be a law change and say fines be very high or arrested just for that day because of scrap yards pricesIs there going be a total Chaos? What will happened?
- 1 or 2 staples does not harm a microwave - any more than 2 could harm it.
- Q: we are thinking of construction an aluminum rounded chassis in the hopes of increasing initial speed over a 10 meter distanceHas anyone attempted this before or have any suggestions on increasing the speed over 10 meters?
- Your question is a bit vagueIf the speed is increased over a specified distance, then it appears that somebody has done it before The means of propulsion are also not clearIf its a mouse-trap from aluminium alloy (of specific size and mass) that you are considering, then the source of power might be limited to the spring when it is set to catch a mouseThe energy of this spring will need to be released slowly by the use of a string wrapped round a shaft and the ends of the shaft are connected to two driving wheelsThe use of a fly-wheel on the shaft should also be considered if all the energy is released in a shorter time than it takes to run the full distance, or you might want to consider the use of gearsBut more than this I cannot supply, except to add that if larger wheels are progressively introduced, the ground speed will increase, but the acceleration be less, so there must be an optimum wheel size to achieve the highest speed over a set length such as 10 meters.
- Q: We have a 1999 Trails West steel horse trailer, and the back door has rotted through. The door is basically square steel tubing welded together in a frame with a sheet of steel over the frame. It's easy enough for me to just build a whole new door instead of trying to fix this one or buy a door from Trails West, but I don't know what thickness of steel I should be using, and the door is so rotted and has flaked off shavings of rust to the point that I can't tell what thickness the original door was made out of.What thickness steel would you use for the sheet of steel? And what wall thickness would you use for the square tube?I considered making the door out of aluminum to save weight, - so if I were to go that route, again, what thicknesses of aluminum sheet/square tube would you go with the maintain the same strength that steel would offer?Bare in mind that, if going steel, I don't want to go thicker gauge than the original door, because steel is heavy, so please don't be conservative LOL.
- Silver or copper polishFailing those, a brisk scrub with salt and lemon juice will help - but not as much as a good metal polish.
- Q: looking to buy 07 or newer truck to pull 88 aluminum mirrowcraft boat and trailerwant to last for a whilecan 4 cylinder do the jobalso will be my main vehiclegas will be going up and most of my driving around townlakes are within hour drivelive in western palooking at nisson or tacoma that have more towing than say ranger.
- I would consult an architect he may have more options,I don't know how high the peak is but you have to consider if extending the rafters will a affect ceiling height and room sizePlus the proper insulation depth is something to consider for comfort and energy savings.
- Q: Is it dangerous to leave your house with the dryer running?
- Is there increased risk? Yes! One of common causes of home fires is from a clothes dryer catching fire, usually from accumlated lintReduce this risk by periodically replacing your exhaust venting for the dryer, and switching from plastic venting to aluminum ventingAnnually removing the shround and vacuuming out accumulated lint will greatly reduce your riskDoing this should allow you to leave your house with greater piece of mind.
- Q: Would it be safe if I made an incense burner out of air dry clay? The brand of my clay is just regular Crayola brandI've tried looking it up and from what I've read I know I shouldn't put my work near flame but the incense wouldn't be on fire it would just be smolderingI'm planing on making a hollowed out dragon so that way when the incense is smoldering the smoke will come out of his nose
- salt and pepper fish with little lemon juice, sliced onions, butter, wrap in alum foil and steam on grill ,when getting close to being done open top of alum foil and let grill flavor smoke it for the taste
