Application of geotextiles
Filtration
It can be the filtration layer of the dykes, river canal, seacoast, concrete slope, retaining walls. At the same time of preventing the clay granule from passing, it allows the water and the gas pass through freely.
Separation
The isolation of the railway dregs and the roadbed, roadbed and the soft base, surface of the airdrome and parking lot and the groundsill, different dam materials. It isolates the
soil and the gravel of two kinds different

granule pathway from the groundsill or other buildings.
Reinforcement
The highway, railway, soil-stone dam, breakwater, airport, backfill soil of retaining wall,
slope protection, etc in which distributes the earth stress,
prevents the side-displacement of the earth body and improves the earth
body stability.
Protection
It prevents the bank from being washed out, protects the bank and the

bottom, prevents the water and soil from being washed away.

Q:Im wanting to do a magnetic board for hanging fabric and I know that there is magnetic paint, but would would it work for hard plastic container that are kinda larger.
I am only guessing but I think the paint, if it sticks well at all, would require several coats and still not be a strong magnet. Adhesive magnets sounds better. Or maybe you could do something with velcro?
Q:How does agricultural plastic affect crop photosynthesis and respiration?
Agricultural plastic can have both positive and negative effects on crop photosynthesis and respiration. On one hand, using plastic mulch or tunnels can increase crop productivity by enhancing light availability, reducing weed competition, and conserving moisture. This can lead to improved photosynthesis and greater crop yields. On the other hand, improper management and disposal of plastic can harm the environment and contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Plastic waste can block sunlight, hinder gas exchange, and create anaerobic conditions, negatively affecting photosynthesis and respiration. Therefore, responsible use and proper disposal of agricultural plastic is crucial to minimize its negative impact on crop physiology.
Q:I read about a huge patch of plastic floating in the Pacific Ocean. It sometimes stretches as far as 1000 miles. So how long will it take this plastic to break down?
almost 100 years if left in a dumpsite
Q:What are the different types of plastic bottles used in agriculture?
There are several types of plastic bottles used in agriculture, including high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) bottles. HDPE bottles are commonly used for storing and transporting liquids such as fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. PET bottles are often used for packaging agricultural products like juices, oils, and other liquid commodities. PVC bottles, known for their durability and resistance to chemicals, are typically used for more specialized applications such as storing and dispensing hazardous substances or controlling irrigation systems.
Q:I really wanna know is how safe are plastic bags, plastic cups/plates, spoons/forks, etc for our environment and ourselves? Are they non-toxic?Anyone know?
Polymers from some plastics can supposedly leach. This happens e.g. if you microwave something without removing the saran wrap. In general the environmental hazard with plastics and polystyrene is not that they're toxic, but that they will last for thousands of years. It's unfortunately more economical to make them disposable than to recycle. If oil hit $200 a barrel or there were higher pollution fines /landfill fees this would change.
Q:How do you establish ground cover in a new garden?
To establish ground cover in a new garden, there are a few steps you can follow. First, prepare the soil by removing any weeds or grass and loosening it with a garden fork or tiller. Next, choose a suitable ground cover plant that matches your garden's needs, such as low-growing shrubs or spreading perennials. Dig small holes or trenches and plant the ground cover plants, spacing them according to the specific plant's recommendations. Water them thoroughly after planting and provide regular watering until they are established. Lastly, consider applying a layer of mulch around the plants to help retain moisture and suppress weed growth. With proper care and maintenance, your ground cover will fill in and create a beautiful and functional garden space.
Q:Can nursery trays be stacked?
Yes, nursery trays can be stacked on top of each other. Stacking them allows for efficient use of space and easy transportation or storage.
Q:My brother thinks he was shocked, but the thing he touched was plastic. Could the plastic have conducted electricity?
There are conductive plastics , but what your brother ran into wasn't one of them. They are special polymers (fancy word for plastics) that are used in batteries and special circuits. But most plastics aren't conductive which is why they use them for insulation on wires Your brother probably got a good static electric charge. You know how when you comb your hair on certain days and it gets attracted to the brush or comb? Well that is a built up static electric charge. Plastic can hold a charge on it's outside surface by any frictional force and then the first person to ground it out will get that shock especially on a low humidity day ,or indoors with a good dehumidifier or air conditioner to take the moisture out of the air. In fact dry air inside of air conditioned places is just as conductive to static electricity as winter days are in the north for getting a good shock
Q:Are nursery trays suitable for starting shrub seedlings?
Yes, nursery trays are suitable for starting shrub seedlings. Nursery trays provide a controlled and protected environment for seedlings to germinate and establish their root systems. They allow for easy monitoring of moisture levels, temperature, and nutrient availability, ensuring optimal conditions for healthy growth. Additionally, the individual compartments in nursery trays help prevent root entanglement and allow for efficient transplantation when the seedlings are ready to be moved to larger pots or the ground.
Q:How long does it take for ground cover plants to establish and spread?
The time it takes for ground cover plants to establish and spread can vary depending on a variety of factors such as the specific type of plant, environmental conditions, and maintenance practices. However, on average, ground cover plants typically take around 1 to 3 growing seasons to establish and spread adequately.
