- Q: Can anyone tell me how to install a granite bathroom vanity. Do I need to put plywood before I put granite ?
- By vainity you mean countertop? Usually the place you buy it from includes the instalation and will take care of this. Sometimes you need to add support inside the cabinets and sometimes not, depends on the cabinets and the thickness of the granite and edging. Best to ask the people you are buying from for advice. If its tile you will need to use plywood.
- Q: I would like a 60 inch vanity in my bathroom but I worry about negotiating stairs and turning corners with a vanity of that size. Should I order two 30 inchers or do the 60 inch vanities come broken down.

- You could order a custom size. But the easy solution is to get a standard size for the vanity sink base (VSB) like a 36. Then you could put a VDB18 next to it- vanity drawer bank 18' wide- and you'd havve 54, and plenty of storage and function (and an off center sink, which I personally would like but I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't...) Or a VSB30 and a 12 on each side, or whatever combination fits your style. Either a cabinet shop or even somewhere like Home Depot can help you plan it in standard sizes. That way, you may get stock items, which is faster, but you definitely avoid the modification upcharges for special sized and stuff. Also a note. If your plumbing and stuff allows it, you might consider regular kitchen cabinets. A lot of our customers prefer 36' height (standard kitchen) in the bathroom instead of the OKorderr vanity height. I'm only 5'6' and I don't like regular short vanities! And you might save money there, as they might stock more kitchen sizes than vanity sizes.

We are replacing the beat up wall trim with new painted white trim and the walls are going to be a dark khaki color. - I would suggest painting it a dark brown. Add new modern brushed chrome hardware and it will look brand new. Not that you asked, but I think light blue or gray blue towels would look good with the khaki, dark brown and white.

- If you just want a vanity, glue, or nail the drawers shut, remove the insides, cut a hole for the pipes, and for the sink. From there it's the same as any counter top. If you want the drawers to work it's not a DIY, unless you have plenty of carpentry skills. Whatever, finish with 2-3 coats of water-based-poly to seal. Oh, great idea! They're really classy!
