- Go for a Compaq - they're owned by HP and they're at decent prices. They redesigned the chassis of them in the past 6 months and they look pretty sweet too. The Compaqs are a good deal. Stay away from Acer, they don't come with much on them as far as software and they have some motherboard issues.

- Laptop coolers are mostly USB power,, they suck up cold air and blow it towards the bottom intake fan of your laptop. Now most laptop cooling fans are not really sufficient, they will lower you CPU core temps by 2-7 degrees Celsius your laptop wont burn out as long as you don't play games on a surface where the intake fan will be blocked, like your bed for instance And all the new laptops have many temperature sensors inside, so if you laptop gets close to overheating, your laptop will either freeze or restart but if you still want a laptop cooler, buy a Coolermaster or one of the known brandnames
