- Pallets are made of inferior grade wood and are held together with fluted nails which are impossible to remove, especially without destroying the wood. You coud pile them up and put a cushion on top but trying to make something of the wood is not practical.

- it's awkward at first, and yes there is some discomfort and soreness.....ibuprofen helped me immensely! the actual turning of the palate expander is somewhat painful, although i think most of that pain was in my head as i was nervous and afraid of breaking something. no worries though....the discomfort does fade, and you do eventually get used to it.....it becomes another (allbeit annoying) part of your body. good luck, it's completely worth it in the end.
