- Q: How would i go about fixing my broken door lock for my civic? the door handle assembly itself pops out all the time although the door itself works. i can see that the back part of the lock where you insert the key on the inside has a plastic piece that is broken off, the door locks from the inside but i just want to know where i could get it fixed or if i can do it myself. and how would i fix the assembly from coming out every time i open my door?
- Just leave the windows down the neighborhood cats will take care of the rest
- Q: thereis a 1 foot long piece that comes out from a fitting in the masonry - I don't feel good abouit lighting a wood fire in teh fireplace with the black pipe in there. the end of the blackp pipe is open. Very rusty, can't get the elbow fittings loose. Thinking about cutting off the pipe, but howw to seal it against fireplace heat? Really want to use the fireplace for wood.
- The detector is good for localizing the leak, the soap solution is good for pinpointing it. I use a spray bottle with 10 to 1 soap to water for finding leaks.
- Q: What would happen if an elementary student pulled a fire alarm?
- when you attack a pump problem there are a few parameters you need to know. the fluidwater ,oil , asphalt etc. the static head ..that's the simple rise and the dynamic head the amount of resistance the pipe and fittings and other appurtenances have on the flow. And other thing you generally need is a rate ..In the first question power is a consumption value for me and it is wattage, which i convert to horsepower. For the person who wrote the question they may mean horsepower directly. Since a rate is not suggested just quote the formula for WHP ..The Head is the rise in feet 50 plus the friction of the pipe. the pipe is the Hypotenuse of the triangle 50 x 200..with unknown friction and diameter to answer this the rise + the friction is all you need to say. 2.vertically 200 m on the same floor..well I would bet that its horizontally on the same floor. Friction is the only head if there is no rise. quote the formula for WHP for the pump power 3.well your right the simple static head is 200m and the power is found again by the WHP formula. these are all the same thing basically getting something from one point to another through a pipe or tube. Friction ,head elbows reducers every little piece has a determining factor . Of course that's in a real situation . For your work just look at the interactive formulas i sent you substitute into them some real values and see what you get .. you'll find that regular horsepower and WHP are a little different. You'll also find out that working with pumps pipes motors and all that stuff is not nearly as hard as you might think..Have a good one from the E
- Q: Designing equipment for shipment to China and they request metric pipe sizes. Where can you get metric pipe and fittings in the US?
- I would go with the barbed/crimped sleeve connection system rather than the SharkBite (which is a glorified Swagelock type system normally used for tubing applications). My experience with Swagelock is that they work well when installed correctly, but can be very finicky to get leak-free (tubing has to seat all the way into the fitting; ferrule must fit squarely on the tubing; must thread the nut on correctly the first time and then neither over- nor under-tighten). Also, while a Swagelock fitting body and nut are reusable, the ferrule is a throw-away item you must replace. Though I've not used SharkBite, I have the same concerns since the design looks the same. The barb/crimp looks simpler/easier to get right. In either case, the most reliable method for installation is to have only dedicated runs and to NOT install any fittings in walls (for example, don't tee off of a line in a wall to feed two sinks). Every mechanical connection is a potential leak spot. The beauty of PEX is that you can run continuous lengths from source to destination, gently bending it as needed. You can't do this with iron, copper or rigid plastic. I've seen photos of PEX installations with loads of couplings and elbows in the wallsthis is lousy workmanship that destroys a lot of the inherent advantages of PEX. As the first responder noted, follow the manufacturer's instructions/recommendations wherever possible. Plumbing errors can lead to very costly damage, and most manufacturers are interested in making sure your use of their products is a successful one. Good luck.
- Q: fender system one guitar tremolo lock collar?
- Assuming something obvious, like burning something in the oven, wasn't the apparent cause 1. I'd immediately make sure I knew where everyone was at and have them gather near an exit. 2. Investigate the cause of the alarm. Check all of the detectors and try to determine which one has sensed an alarm condition. 3. If there is no sign of fire, I'd reset the alarm and fan/vacuum the detector. 4. Obviously is there was a fire, I'd grab the extinguisher and attempt to put it out while someone else called 911. 5. Have other family members evacuate until the situation was safe. 6. Leave myself if I can do no more good or my own life became threatened. (Grabbing my wallet, cell phone, and car keys on the way out the door, if I could safely get them.)
- Q: I have a question regarding helmets. Please answer this question.?
- Don't know for sure, but just using common sense: c.Vent the vault through an activated charcoal canister to prevent odor-ant from escaping into air. a. is wrong, it would be ridiculous, because if you encased the vault with pipes and fittings, you couldn't access the vault. b. is wrong because if you kept the vault open, then anything, including water, dirt, and animals could enter the vault defeating it's protection status. d. is wrong, because permanent markers, would easily fade over time underground and would be meaningless shortly
- Q: i have a school dance comming up in a few weeks and i want some ideas for 80's style i know it is all big hair but i mean clothes i can handle makeup and hair but i need ideas for clothes its suposed to be simi-formal and 80's style lol so yea i guess i need some ideas on how to mix those two together! - All of the above answerers ideas as well as; Swimming pools and hot tubs need fences and locking covers. Baths should always be supervised Teach children what the different danger symbols on chemicals look like and what they mean Deadbolts on entrances for possible sleepwalkers Locks on bedroom windows Trampolines are a huge source of injuries in children, even with the safety net Prescription and over the counter drugs can look like candy, and some taste like fruit syrup, so must be up high like the alcohol. Electricity rules need to be explained (no forks in the outlets please) not just don't do it, but why it's dangerous. Even small children can picture a bolt of lightning if it's used incorrectly. Many people store bathroom cleaners in the bathroom, all cleaners should be stored in one place up high. Rules about household pets need to be established to avoid danger to the animal and child. Rules about leaving the house only with an adult, or asking permission from an adult are very important as well. Cabinets, bookcases, and entertainment units look like ladders when you are 5 and want the video or book on the top shelf. Children are injured or killed when one tips over onto them as they climb. They should be bolted to the wall. Electrical cords should be wrapped up into a cord turtle (a rubber casing that slides over a coiled cord) or twisted up and elastic banded behind furniture. Okay, I'm sure there's more, but I need to go do that really important safeguard thing now; supervise!
- Q: Inspired by another question I asked just recently.
- If your trailer is on fire, how were you able to type up this question? Seems to me you would be needing to get out of the trailer and maybe call the fire department. Just my opinion.
- Q: Will that be all right? Then there's the PPR pipe joint on the right. Is that ok?
- You don't see this picture very clearly. You mean there's a lot of right side connections, right?
