Q: Can solar panels be installed on a residential community or housing development?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a residential community or housing development. In fact, it is becoming increasingly common for homeowners and developers to integrate solar panels into these settings to generate clean and sustainable energy for the community. Installing solar panels on rooftops or open spaces within the development can help reduce reliance on grid electricity, lower energy costs, and contribute to a greener environment.
Q: Ok Im trying to power my room using solar panels and I've figure out that I need about 700 watts to do so, but I really only use my electronics at night. I was wondering if I could buy lets say a 200 watt solar panel and let it charge a battery all day would that work? I live in southern california so I dont have to worry to much about cloudy days. also any suggestions on where to buy a panel, inverter, charge regulator, and battery?
Solar panels range fromwatt to 200 watts. Most panels up to30 watts are 2volts. Siemens puts out a module (SM0) that is rated at 0 watts, 2volt, and 6.3 amps.weight (without a frame) .5 kg ms 660mm by 36mm., .868 sq meters, 26.73 watts/m^2. Do a google search for solar panels. Southern Cal. should have lots of suppliers. I know there is one in Arizona.
Q: How many kilowatts? Would it be enough to power my electric heat?Does one panel cost about $2000.?
The first thing to understand is that there is nothing complex about a solar panel. It is nothing more than a collection of solar or PV cells on a board that is fitted to the most appropriate part of your home, generally on the roof. There are guides out there that teach you how to build a solar panel and a windmill for just $50, and it’s very easy to make. Best of all, you can save 70% or more on your energy bill, adding up to thousands of dollars each year in savings. I reviewed both free guides and paid guides and have come up with our top to Build your own solar panels.
Q: Can solar panels be used for powering water treatment plants?
Yes, solar panels can be used for powering water treatment plants. Solar energy can be harnessed through photovoltaic panels to generate electricity, which can then be used to power the various processes involved in water treatment plants. This renewable energy source offers a sustainable and environmentally-friendly solution for powering water treatment facilities.
Q: Am using 800watts sukam inverter and have 55watts panel. What controller can i use to connect my solar system to have a max power . Already i have 200 Amp/hr battery
If that 55-watt panel has an open circuit voltage of 7-8 volts, you may get more efficiency by omitting the charge controller completely, and connecting the panel straight to the battery. 55 watts is marginally too small for a 200 AH battery at 2 volts, by the way.
Q: hi, i got a pond and i am planning of putting some lights on it during night time. but i want to use solar panels and i have done a bit of research about solar panels and i know how they work, i know that the common voltage to use is 2v so you can use car batteries or deep cycle batteries, but my question is:. what wattage of bulb can you recommend2. how long it would take to drain my battery (can i have it overnight)3. and what wattage of solar panel should i get enough to recharge my battery the next day.hope anyone can help..thanks
You can get 6V cells and SLA batteries. You would get a panel and batteries suitable for the lights you get though. Depending on what you want to do, you shoud look into LED lighting, which is more efficient than incandescent. You do not want to drain your battery flat. Rather you want to draw only 2/3 of its capacity of so. You would find the lights you want (likely 2VDC), and add up the current they draw, and get a battery that would supply enough capacity (in AH, which is amps time hours) for a couple nights use (to account for weak solar days), and a solar panel to charge two days of use in one good day. You would use a charge controller so that the solar panel does not over charge the battery, and some sort of dusk timer to turn your lights on at dusk and off several hours later.
Q: how big of an solar panel do i need to power/charge my laptop?would one from canadian tire sell the right one?
Most decent laptops can use 50W of power or more....so you'd actually need a large solar panel with good sunlight. I just looked up how big a 50W solar panel is....it's about 64x64 centimeters...which is very big and expensive! So, solar power may not be the best solution to power, or charge a laptop battery. Maybe there are some solar powered chargers that charge the battery very slowly, but probably not.
Q: I have seen quite a few different websites that talk about building your own solar panels for around $200. I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with this before I decide to try it myself. It would be very helpful to know what I can expect from such an inexpensive setup; what kind of electronics or appliances would I be able to power. Realistically what can I expect from a $200 setup, and what would I need to power say a whole bedroom (clock, regular sized TV, PC, ext.).
Hello, okorder . Look at some videos ( There are few hundred of them ) Basically though they all stay with the same idea or plan. Look at how they wire them and get more familiar with what they are running on them depending upon how much wattage panel they are running. I seen a 400 watt system costing about 600 dollars US currency. Because two 200 watt panels = 50.00 each and the diverter = 50 and the charge controller = another 50.00 at the least. Then you have wiring and some deep cycle 2 or 6 volt batteries to loop up which is extra cost if none laying around to use. Check-out youtube though for the best advice and opinion you can give yourself then maybe look at a few solar panel websites which sell Solar kits for some more price ideas. To run a laptop i assume you will need atleast 400 watts and 2 to 4 ,twelve volt batteries which are deep cycle and it might take 3 to 5 days to charge up your batteries but they should charge laptop battery no problem without much loss if you keep laptop charged often. TV is power hungry and you will need something like a $500.00 system for that. 000 watts etc. Tv just drains the battery bank way too fast. So to answer your question about what you can get for 200 bucks. Maybe a 80 watt kit system for about 250 bucks complete except batteries. with 80 watts you could power some cool nighttime night lighting with super bright LEDS or LED light strips which are about 0.3 watts per LED or 5 watt LED cabinet lights work well So for a 80 watt system you probably only want one 2 volt battery or else will take alot longer to charge on such low wattage. But you could run LED lighting for nighttime lighting and easily save 250 dollars in a year off your bill by charging phone from it, using LED lights and other low wattage devices if utilized daily. Just don't draw more power than it makes and it should be ok. Goodluck with your research.
Q: For part of a school project how would I charge a car battery with a solar panel? The panel is 48V and 6A. This needs to be low budget so I can't buy an expensive controller, Is that the only way or are there other ways of doing it?
Here's okorder /
Q: I can't figure out how to charge a Ni Cd (BD 8V Firestorm) battery directly with a solar panel so I've come up with an alternative which might or might not work. I thought I would connect an inverter (I found a nice 400W for $30) to my trucks battery and plug the BD Firestorm battery charger into the inverter. Then I was thinking I could use a 5W solar panel to trickle charge the truck battery and keep it connected after the Ni Cd is charged to ensure the truck battery is topped off. The truck would not be running during this process. Will this solution work? Is there a better solution?
Two of those solar panels connected in series will easily charge a 8V battery. I would not even be concerned about over voltage the solar cells will have plenty of internal resistance.
