- Q: My little man will be 3 in Feb. He has had three sets of tubes and has some hearing loss. We have started potty trainin and does really good as long as he has no pants on. So he runs all over the house streaking. But if you put undies or a pull up he will go in them. I have started setting a timer for every 15 minutes and he will run in and try if dressed. But if no timer or not streaking he will go in his pants. Please any suggestions.
- Yes, that would work fine but it would taste horrible. I do not swallow pills with water that is when I feel them going down and gag on them. Milk is the best choice because it is thick so you won't feel them going down as much. You should try that before you empty pills into water. You could also do this thing called parachuting.. I think it's just something people do with drugs but it would work for you also. They break up the pill place it in a small piece of tissue and swallow the tissue. That way it isn't a hard pill. Make sure to drink it down with a beverage even after you've swallowed them just to make sure they haven't gotten stuck in your throat.
- Q: Or is it just an instrument of Big Jew to make us conform?
- Comin' out the nozzle on a fire hose, flyer than swatters
- Q: flame that is used in movie stunts that does not actually burn the skin. This flame look like a real fire but obviously does not burn anything except the chemical itself
- For those who keep saying they should have helped.. they likely were. I have been on fires where we stood by while the house burned to the ground. It is all going to depend on alot of factors, things the asshat reporters ignore, they just want eye catching headlines. Things like was the house even savable while they arrived on scene? Responding from the city to the boonies takes time, and all it takes is about 7-10 minutes for a house to be completely salvageable. Did they have an adequate water source to fight the fire (not all rural areas do) or would they be forced to call in water tenders or Draft, if a source was even available? Did they have enough manpower to do an aggressive attack? A whole lot of things that are NOT in the articles and reports. as for the animals, guess what we don't save them, they either get out on their own and they die. Sorry but that's the way it is we won't risk a humans life for an animal, however had there been victims trapped that would have been another story, but there wasn't. If you haven't been in the fire service it may look like they weren't doing anything but do you know all the factors that went into the IC's decision to operate in a defensive mode? I have never heard of, worked with, or seen a Department that would respond and NOT fight the fire. happens all the time round here and those people simply get a very large bill in the mail.
- Q: My head teacher didn't send us home when there was a power cut and all alarms where turned off so was is dangerous for him to do that?
- I wouldn't get out, it's in my nature to put it out. I had a fire here and I had my hose where I was working at so I ran downstairs and started filling up mini hampers with water in the slop sink and running to the fire dousing it. Yes I am one of the last remaining members of the Fire Bucket Brigade. I'm sure if I knew I couldn't get it out I'd have left, I hope, but I am stubborn. The thing I would want to grab the most I guess would be my back up picture disc but I back it up like monthly and give the old ones to other peeps so I guess the second thing would be my porn collection mags and DVD's. Gotta have something to spank it to while sleeping in my cardboard box 'cause I ain't never seen a hot hobo chic. Or would she be called a hoba.
- Q: I've noticed that the Roush guys have Valvoline patches on their fire suits again and I also heard that AAA will be leaving NASCAR in 2009 Did Roush steal Valvoline back from GEM? Or again is this just wishful thinking
- metal doesn't burn (easily) wires do though. Question is what isn't working and what caused the fireand how long will it stay working ok?
- Q: Why is it impossible for lightning to strike the same place twice?
- Doing exercises that channel your butt - squats, lunges, fire hydrants - should help tone your thighs and hamstrings. Try this: stand with your legs shoulder width apart, and keeping your back straight, squat down into a sitting position as low as you can, hold for a few seconds, and jump straight into the air. Keep doing this for 30 seconds at a time, 4-5 reps, resting 30 in between each. Its amazing cardio and you'll really feel it burning in your butt and thighs. Additionally, I've read that jumping rope is a great way to burn fat without building a ton of muscle. Jump roping 5-10 minutes a day is the equivalent of about 20-25 minutes of running and its AMAZING cardio. Yes, it will kill your calves, but you'll also feel it it in your butt and thighs. Getting plenty of fiber in your diet will also help trim down unwanted bumps. Fiber is like the body's natural scouring pad.
- Q: I'm in Indiana and it's humid, in the 80's and gray and stormy [ a gloomy day!
- Foam and water puts out fire as it denies the burning material oxygen. CO2 puts it out by diluting the oxygen.
- Q: WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE PART ON A 2002 BMW 325I WHERE THE KEY GOES INTO THE DRIVERS DOOR ?DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY?
- I guess the only conclusion to these episode is that most firemen do not do much maintenance check on their equipment especially the fire hoses which eventually leak when they fight fires somewhere else. One of the reason which you stated is correct worned out hoses or equipment. As you know for sure, I guess you listen to news story all the time concerning your country economic state, some fire department is minimizing budget cuts or allowances for fire fighting equipment. Some department do not have budget or allowances to buy new equipment esp. fire hose and other paraphernalia. They still uses the old one because of course money cuts. So do not be surprise if you do see every news story including video of the scene when you see clearly that the fire hoses leak water. Do not blame the fire fighters, they are just doing their job. Blame the people in the government who do not allocate enough funds for these firemen who are risking their lives to fight fire.
- Q: All right guys, we been having issues with sleeping at night ever since we moved into our foreclosure home 3 years ago. We wake up around 230- 330 at night(both my spouse and I) and thereafter cant go back to bed. we tried every thing, but no luck, our physician even gave us sleeping pills, but I have to take 4 times the dosage prescribed to sleep at night. Have no clue whats going on.Since last week, our smoke detector starts going off around the same time(230-330) in the bedroom, its perfectly normal during day time, but at night it goes off, but there is no smoke. We been using cool mist humidifer at night, does high humidity could be a reason? Last night we left the humidifier off, still the smoke detector went off at 3 am until around 6 am. Its annoying too.We dont know whats going on with our house!!!
- Yes you can but the weight minimums still apply. If you go to fire fighting school, you will find that there is a weight and strength minimum also. A fire hose can be a monster when full on and very difficult to hang onto as well as aim the spray. That being said, work out with weights, eat a balanced carbo and vegie diet and you will be fine for both. The only issue that you might run into is enlisting in the Reserves after you are hired full-time with your fire department. If you were to enlist in the Reserves before you hire on, your job would be protected by federal law if mobilized. Going the other way around probably won't protect your job since by enlisting and being gone at least 6 months for training, leaves the fire department open to filling your billet with someone else. Before you enlist for the Reserves, talk it out with your Fire Captain. He is the one who would recommend retention or letting you go. Lieutenant Colonel, US Marine Corps-Retired
