Not much for interesting patinas there, either a whitish powdery finish or a rust color, depending on how much zinc is on the surface of the steel. There may be some copper sheet at HD, or other hardware stores. You might try some roofing supply outfits, sometimes copper sheet is used as flashing on finer homes or historical restorations. - Q: For example, to obtain a metal hydroxide, (Metal) + Oxygen have to react to get (Metal)-hydroxide and hydrogen. To get a metal oxide, you need (Metal) + (something) to get (something). I can't figure out what you need with metal to get metal oxide. Any help would be appreciated.
