Q:I've noticed the AMD bulldozer can get up to 4.0ghz which is really fast, has 8 cores and comes really cheap. I was looking around on ebay and harddrives are selling for around ?375.Whereas the highest i7's also has 8 cores but the ghz isn't as fast as the AMD bulldozer yet costs a heck of a lot more.Why is this? Is the AMD bulldozer really faster than the i7?: The bulldozer processors are fast but if you look on benchmark checks it falls behind some of the i7-intel processors performance wise in gaming, 3d rendering, etc. by price wise the price drop on amd processors to compete with the intel processors something intel would do.

Together they clear a large tract in 1 2/1 hours. how long would the larger bulldozer take. please tell me how you got it: First, I'm assuming your typo should be 1 1/2 hours (= 1.5 hr). Assume that the large bulldozer takes x hours to clear the land. So in 1.5 hours, by simple proportion, it would clear 1.5/x parts of the land. The small bulldozer is slower by a factor of 2, and takes 2x hours to clear the land. So in 1.5 hours, it would clear 1.5/(2x) parts of the land. But 1.5/x parts of land + 1.5/(2x) parts of land = a total of 1 plot of land. That is : 1.5/x + 1.5/(2x) = 1 Solving gives x = 9/4 = 2 1/4 hours (for the large bulldozer on its own), while, 2x = 9/2 = 4 1/2 hours (for the small bulldozer on its own).

They have bad reviews and credability. I heard they heat up and are not reliable. You could go with a very cheap Athlon triple-core 3.4ghz or so for $80 or a Phenom quad core 3.6ghz for $159. You might want to get faster ram, if your motherboard can do 1600 mhz? You should be fine.. you should be able to play on high settings .. but I strongly suggest getting a Phenom or Athlon...

Q:i recently just bought a new gaming computer from ibuypower. it isnt supposed to come untill january, and as i was looking over the order sheet, i realized i bought an amd fx 8150 CPU 3.60 GHz. after looking online and doing some research, i found that ALOT of people are saying that the amd bulldozer is an epic fail. BUT i do have a high end graphics card. (amd radeon hd 6970) will i be able to run games at a good fps with this CPU/ GPU combination? please no intel or amd fanboy comments, im only looking for facts, not opinions. thanks in advance.: Sadly, yes. The bulldozer series was a pretty big flop. However, they overclock VERY well(overclocked mine a whole 1 Ghz with multipliers alone, and it runs very cooly), so that should definitely help with performance. You do have a pretty good GPU, so that should definitely make up the difference. The only reason people say that they are terrible though is because of the price to value ratio. The fx-4100, which is what I have, performs really well, especially for its price. It's just not the best on the market. PLus, if you look at the benchmarks, it falls behind intel by just a bit, but its low price makes up for it. So overall, you could have gotten a better CPU for the price, but since it has an AM3+ socket, you probably got a motherboard that supports that, and that type of socket is more future proof.
