1.Description

Aluminium foil (or aluminum foil) is aluminium prepared in thin metal leaves with a thickness less than 0.2 millimetres (8 mils); thinner gauges down to 6 micrometres (0.24 mils) are also commonly used.In the United States, foils are commonly gauged in thousandths of an inch or mils. Standard household foil is typically 0.016 mm (0.63 mils) thick, and heavy duty household foil is typically 0.024 mm (0.94 mils). Thefoil is pliable, and can be readily bent or wrapped around objects. Thin foils are fragile and are sometimeslaminated to other materials such as plastics or paper to make them more useful. Aluminium foil supplantedtin foil in the mid 20th century.

Annual production of aluminium foil was approximately 800,000 tonnes (880,000 tons) in Europe and 600,000 tonnes (660,000 tons) in the U.S. in 2003. Approximately 75% of aluminium foil is used for packaging offoods, cosmetics, and chemical products, and 25% used for industrial applications (e.g. thermal insulation, cables and electronics).

In North America, aluminium foil is known as aluminum foil. It was popularized by Reynolds Metals, the leading manufacturer in North America. In the United Kingdom and United States it is, informally, widely called tin foil, for historical reasons (similar to how aluminum cans are often still called "tin cans").Metallised films are sometimes mistaken for aluminium foil, but are actually polymer films coated with a thin layer of aluminium. In Australia, aluminium foil is widely called alfoil.

Q: I'm not sure if the gas type has it but ours is an old GE type stove topMy wife has a clever way of covering the drip pans with aluminum foil to keep them cleanBut recently she started covering the hole to prevent boil over spills from dripping down belowI think the manufacturer provided that center hole for a reason.
They allow hot air to escapeOnly in extreme cases will covering the hole be a problem.
Q: an alluminium has a +3 charge to get to 10 electronshow many protons does it have?
I definitely blanket and clip if I plan on riding through the winterBlanketing is a bit of a hassle, but worth it for all the hours you save walking your horse out in a cooler while they dryIf you want to blanket to save on cool out time, I definitely recommend clippingWhile if you start blanketing soon enough in the season, you can cut down on coat growth a bit, but not drasticallyCoat growth is largely influenced by daylight hours, not just temperatureSo don't bother blanketing if you aren't going to clipYou will have a little less thicker of a coat, but you will still be stuck with a long drying time before you can put the blanket back on if you don't body clip.
Q: I have noticed those great heels lady gaga has, the ones with the FRONT heel! I'm asking if anybody knows how or were I can get instruction on how to make them? Any suggestions??
the ones I've seen have a part that sticks out of the platform to help balance, otherwise it would be like trying to tiptoe all day Instructions on how to make them? Shoe-building is no easy task, or else everyone would make their own shoesThat being said, it would be easiest to find a heeled shoe that fits the profile you desireThen modify it to Gaga styleA shoe's heel is meant to hold weightWith the Gaga sole-heel/heel-less shoe, the place where you put your heel still has to hold weightBut it does not have the support of a column (heel) directly underneath it to hold that weightTherefore, the load-bearing ability is engineered into the section where you place your heel and integrated into the sole properThe only way to do this without an engineering degree or tons of trial and error, is to simply use a strong material, like aluminum, bent to the shape of the bottom of the shoe (after you remove the heel.) It would be best to bend this material out of 3/16 minimum aluminum flat stock, about 5 wideAfter this, cut the shape of each (left and right) side from the bent flat stockI choose this size cuz you can't bend it under your own weightAfter this is adhered via screws or epoxy, the next task is to add the Gaga soles onto the aluminumIf you don't have the ability to bend aluminum, you can reinforce the arch by laminating layers of fiberglassI would go up to 1/4 if you do that, unless you really know your fiberglassAfter that, add the Gaga soleThe sole can be carved from any type of material and then cast in rubberBut if you don't know how to make molds, you might as well just make them out of stacks of wood, and carve then into shapeYou can rough out each layer with a saw, and finish it off on a belt sanderSmear it with black epoxyLet it dry and resand itThen paint it with black oil paint and call it a dayGood luck
Q: cuz my oven doesn't work i wanted to try that so i got a piece of foil and wrapped the corn dogg with the foil then i heated up the pan thingy were you would heat up tortillas and like can you get like cancer of the foil like would it be dangerous to eat the corn dogg ???
NeitherTry the Nissan AltimaI've been driving one for years and its been super reliableYou can get it base or fully loaded.
Q: Will paper mache stick to aluminum foil?
I love YYZ -.- -.- -.
Q: how do you reheat beacon popcorn?
Yeah, female lizards are always a little more calmer then malesBecause he is new and prolly young he not used to being heldYou have to keep holding him and getting him used to youFirst hold him in your hands while in the cage then after he gets a little more used to you start taking him out of the cage, a couple of mina dayAfter a while he will get used to you holding himHold him and stroke him on the head in between the eyes a littleThat calms my Beardie down.
Q: I make aluminium bracelets (not professionally) and recently my bracelet bending pliers brokeI'm waiting for a new pair but it's going to take a long time to ship here, and I have quite a few orders in right now, so I was wondering if there's a way to bend them into an acceptable shape without a bracelet bender?
Use a leather hammer and a piece of pipe or dowel smaller than the finished size you wantThe dowel will be round, not oval, but you can compensate by using two sizes of dowel, one for the ends (smaller) and a larger size for the body of the braceletHammer away, starting with bending the ends to the right curve over the smaller dowel, then hammer the rest of the metal strip over the larger dowel.
Q: ive been a coon trapper for 3 years and yet have i found a bait that coon will come to but not possom help me out if trying to get ready for next trapping season i want a bait that only atracts coon and that wont atract possom
Make a shallow water set with a 1 or 2 jump trap and cover the pan with aluminum foilAdd some raccoon scent to the shoreline at the setRaccoon will be attracted to the scent, but the opossum will notThe 'coon sees the foil pan and assumes it is a clam, but is attracted to it andYou've got a raccoonIf you stake the trap in the deeper water, the raccoon will tangle the chain around the stake and drown quickly rather than labor over trying to free itself from the trapIt is more quick and humane than most land sets unless you only use Connibear traps.
Q: Tommorow I'm going to a showcase, in the batting practice round you could either use a bbcore bat or wood batI have a Demarini Voodoo 2012 and a Demarini Pro Maple bat thats also bbcor, which one do you think would impress the scouts more?
A pop can dented in slightly on one side, poke holes into the dented portion with a needle, load it up, and enjoy.
