Ceramic Fiber Board for Heat Insulation
1. Product Description:
Ceramic fiber board is a lightweight refractory material processed with alumina-silica fibers for applications at temperatures up to 1430°C(2600°F) Ceramic fiber board is a vacuum formed product that resists higher gas velocities than ceramic fiber blanket,it is ideal for furnace, boiler duct and stack lining due to its low thermal conductivity and low heat storage allowing shorter cycle times and quicker access for maintenance.
2.Characteristics of ceramic fiber board:
1)Low thermal conductivity,saves fuel
2)Very low heat storage, faster heat and cool-down reducing cycle times
3)Ligh weight.replaces heavy back-up insulation.less steel required.
4)Excellent thermal shock resistance
5)Resistant to hot gas erosion
6)Resists most chemical attacks
7)Easy to cut,handle and install
8)Low sound transmission
9)Resists penetration by molten aluminum and other non-ferrous metals
10)Contains no asbestos
3.Applications:
1)Refractory lining for industrial furnaces in walls, roofs, doors, stacks, etc.
2)Combustion chamber liners,boilers and heaters
3)Back-up insulation for brick and monolithic refractories
4)Transfer of molten aluminum and other non-ferrous metals
5)Expansion joint boards
6)Barrier against flame or heat
7)Hot face layer for high velocity or abrasive furnace atmosphere

- Yes, you can freeze itSlice it and stack the slices between sheets of wax paper, and put the stack in a ziplock, squeeze the air out and seal it and toss it in the freezer I've done this many times, provolone freezes fine.

How about a moisture barrier as well?
- YesUse a minimum of one and half inches thick new concrete over stable existing concreteIf the reason you are doing this is because the old slab is breaking up, you need to have a professional to look at it to determine if old slab pieces need to be removed and if you have enough head room, whether it will interfer with doors, etcWish you would of added why you are considering it and condition of existingPost back with more info, please.

- Q: Concerning diabetes.does carbohydrates good or bad for diabetic?
- Aluminum has 3 valence electrons and therefore form 3+ ion Oxygen receives 2 electrons to fill it's outer shell and form 2- ionThey can only be combined together when 2 Aluminum atoms producing 6+ charge (in total) joins with 3 Oxygen atoms producing 6- charge so that the overall charge on the new product Al2O3 is neutral.
- Q: My grandma got me a 28quot; knitting board for ChristmasIf you don't know what that is google itIt's basically two pieces of wood with a bunch of silver pegsI'm attempting to make a blanket so I started knitting this morningI have about 2 1/2quot; of knitted blanket coming through the two pieces of wood and I pull it tight after every stitch (after I criss cross the yarn and pull the bottom over the top)At the very bottom where I originally started there are a bunch of loops that I assume should be even, but they aren'tThere are a few loops that stick out farther than the other and it looks sloppyI have no clue how to fix itAlso, what's the best yarn to use for making a blanket? Right now I'm using 'I Love This Yarn' from Hobby Lobby but it doesn't seem like its gonna be a warm blanket. Thanks! :)
- God I've seen so many questions taking about boredomYES YES YES we are all boredget over it and go do something already.
- Q: Explain why a ceramic bowl will keep oatmeal hot longer than a stainless steel bowl.?
- Well it is because it?s due Thermal conductivity of the different materials, in the bowl a phenomena called heat transfer will happen, it can happen in three basic different ways: conduction, radiation and convectionFor your question you can suppose only conduction will happen inside the bowl, from the oatmeal to the bowlAnd convection from the bowl to the airThe conduction heat transfer will be due Thermal conductivity Stainless steel Thermal conductivity Ceramic Thermal conductivity Therefore will be more heat transfer from the oatmeal to the bowl with a stainless steel bowl.
- Q: i have a new attic to insulate, it has 2x4 rafters,24'' on center, any suggestions?
- Roll insulation with the best R rating that you can affordI had to do this last summer.
