1.What is aluminum?
Aluminium is oxidized by water at temperatures below 280°C to produce hydrogen, aluminium hydroxide and heat:2 Al + 6 H2O → 2 Al(OH)3 + 3 H2
This conversion is of interest for the production of hydrogen. Challenges include circumventing the formed oxide layer, which inhibits the reaction and the expenses associated with the storage of energy by regeneration of the Al metal.

Aluminium is theoretically 100% recyclable without any loss of its natural qualities. According to the International Resource Panel's Metal Stocks in Society report, the global per capita stock of aluminium in use in society (i.e. in cars, buildings, electronics etc.) is 80 kg (180 lb). Much of this is in more-developed countries (350–500 kg (770–1,100 lb) per capita) rather than less-developed countries (35 kg (77 lb) per capita). Knowing the per capita stocks and their approximate lifespans is important for planning recycling.

- Q: My significant other and I are vegetarianHe doesn't like cold foods, like pasta salad and sandwichesIf he goes to Subway, he has to have his sandwich toastedI think straight fruits and veggies are okay, but I want to have something more substantialI know they have grills at the beach, but I have no idea what to pack in order to use themI'm also not the best cook and I've never grilled before.HELP What can I pack so that we have a great (and not hungry) day at the beach?
- bring along a large bag of charcoal, charcoal lighter fluid, a cigarette lighter, aluminum foilyou need to get rid of what is in the grill left over charcoal, wood etcdon't worry about cleaning the grill rack where u cook ur food the fire will take care of that, it would help if u had a steel wire brusheither way i'd lay tin foil on the rack You can also prepare some things ahead get some gallon zip lock bagsCube up some potatoes add butter, onions, salt pepper wrap it in tinfoil indivduallySo good on the grillAlso whatever other veggie u make like, i luv squash the same wayDo you two eat veggie burgers (i've never tried them, i heard not too bad) anyway once you've prepped seasoned ur veggie's put in tin foil (remember they're going on the grill just as you wrapped them) place them in the gallon zip lock bags, makes it easier transportinglol also u can use them for tomato, lettuce, onion, ketchup, squeeze mayo, mustardi do that so it doesn't leak everywhere like in the coolerThose grills are too big so don't put the whole bag of charcoal in itPile it up on one side about 6 inch or so if it has a lid if not even it out, squeeze some fluid on it light her up put the rack on, if it has a lid leave it openWhen the charcoal turns gray she's ready to cookAND WHATEVER YOU DO NOT!! PUT LIGHTER FLUID BACK ON ANY WOOD/CHARCOAL WHEN THERE IS FOOD ON THE GRILL! have fun i hope this helped
- Q: First timer! It says:Preheat oven to 350 FCut slit in film over vegetablesPlace tray on baking sheet on middle oven rackCook 40 minutesRemove, let stand 2 minutes, stir serveMy question is, what's a quot;baking sheetquot;?? i have aluminum foil nonstick, but a friend warned me that the plastic from the meal might melt on it.
- No, they don't contain that muchSears is lyingThe form of aluminum in vaccines is alum, an aluminum saltMost of the weight is of alum is actually just water and oxygen, with the actual amount of aluminum is a fraction of thatHe's being dishonest to scare you, its workingAnd you usually can't take alum out of vaccinesIt's need as an adjuvant to actually induce an immune response.
- Q: A few of my pots and cookie sheets have rusted and I've been too paranoid to eat off themShould I throw them out?
- As for the cookie sheets, just line them with aluminum foil, parchment paper or a silicone fiberglass SILPAT baking mat before you use them to prevent the food from coming in contact with the rustIf they are cast iron cookware, put them into your SELF-CLEANING OVEN cycle at 500+ degreesThe rust will turn to powder and brush right offYou can then re-oil or reseason the pans to prevent them from rusting againBut don't do this with any other type of pan, as plastic handles and other metals will not hold up to that heatBrillo or SOS pads or steel wool will scour the rust off stainless steelIf it's on the outside of the pans, don't worry about itOnly clean the cooking surfacesRust comes from oxidized metalHuman beings are not meant to ingest rust, and rusty metal can cause health issues like tetanus if you step on a rusty nail or cut yourself on a rusty canYou have choices, but high quality cookware with a non-stick coating makes clean-up a breeze and cooking a pleasure! ;-) I suggest you invest in T-Fal or RevereWare and make sure you use non-metal spatulas and utensils to preserve the cooking surface coating.
- Q: What is the most effective method to take aluminum foil off of food without causing damage to the food itself?
-
The best way to remove aluminum foil from food is to gently lift one corner of the foil with a pair of clean tongs or a fork, and then carefully peel it back. If the foil is stuck to the food, use a spatula to gently lift the food away from the foil. Always handle the foil carefully to avoid tearing it, which could lead to sharp edges and potential injury. For delicate foods, you might need to use a knife to cut the foil away, taking care not to cut into the food.

- Q: Im putting a couple struts in a 1999 Ford TaurusThe old struts have metal and aluminum holding them to the carThe aluminum and metal have oxidized togetherIs there an easy way to get them to separate without ruining the metal or aluminum.
- I assume you're talking about where the strut goes into the knuckleSpray some penetrating oil on there, and let it soak a whilesupport the car by the body, so the front wheels hangLeave the top of the strut bolted to the car, until you get the strut/knuckle separatedI found, just about all of these need a bit of persuading with a hammerPound the knuckle down, and it will come freeAvoid using heat; the strut is pressurized, and could blow up! Also, too much heat can alter the integrity of the aluminum knuckle.

- Q: Is it possible to repurpose old aluminum foil for crafting or gift wrapping purposes?
-
Yes, you can use old aluminum foil for craft projects or wrapping gifts. It's a versatile material that can be recycled or repurposed in various ways. For crafts, it can be cut into shapes, crumpled for texture, or used to create shiny effects.
