Q: What is the biggest solar panel you can buy?How much energy can it produce in kwh? Thanks :)
come to tn
Q: So lets say that Everyday I use ,280 kWh. How many 250 watt solar panels would I buy so that I don't need to buy electricity anymore. Sorry if this sounds stupid, I am doing research on why american homes should become more cost efficient.
Everyday I use ,280 kWh 280 kW-hour / 24 hours = 470 kW WOW, that is a very high power level, most homes use an average of .2 kW. My guess is that you mean you use 280 kW-hour in a year, which comes to an average power of .3 kW, typical. Assuming you get, worse case, 6 hours of sun per day, for the first case, 470 kW, each solar panel generates the equivalent of 250 x6/24 = 60 watts, so you would need 470k/60 = 8000 panels For the second case, .3 kw or 300 watts, divided by 60 that is about 20 panels. Depending on where you live, you could need as much as twice that number. Plus you need charge controller, lots of expensive batteries, and an inverter. The big problem is periods of no sun. If you demand continuous power, and you have a period of, say, 24 hours with no sun because of storms, etc, then the number of batteries increases to the hundreds.
Q: I have a solar panel, charge regulator, inverter....is that all I need to tie it into my grid? Do I just plug the solar panel into the charge regulator into the inverter into any 0v outlet? I feel like im missing something....
No don't do that unless you want a fire or worse electricution . DO NOT PLUG INTO THE WALL . st solar panel 2nd regulator 3rd 2 volt battery 4th inverter . The inverter should have 0 volt terminals that look like the plug on the wall . You would plug your TV or light into that the inverter . You would need an electrition to hook into your home electrical system . They will hook up a device made to tie into the grid or your meter that will make it run backwards but it takes alot of solar panels too do that . Please do not plug into wall .
Q: Can solar panels be used on agricultural land?
Yes, solar panels can be used on agricultural land. In fact, solar installations on farms and agricultural areas have become increasingly popular due to the dual benefits they offer. They not only generate clean energy but also provide farmers with an additional revenue stream. By utilizing solar panels on their land, farmers can offset their energy costs, reduce their carbon footprint, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on forests or protected areas?
Solar panels can be installed on forests or protected areas, but it is important to carefully consider the potential environmental impact and sustainability of such installations. Proper planning and assessment should be conducted to determine the potential disturbance to ecosystems, wildlife habitats, and biodiversity. In some cases, it may be more appropriate to explore alternative locations or prioritize the use of existing infrastructure for solar panel installations.
Q: Solar panels are expensive, can I make my own solar panel?
no, not really, they require exotic chemicals and processes. The online outfits that promise to help you build your own are mostly scams. The one I looked at (other answer) seems to just be an assembly guide to put together solar cells into panels. That is fine, but you still have to buy the solar cells, the expensive part. The assembly is just putting them in series/parallel to produce higher voltages and currents. .
Q: Do solar panels require direct sunlight to generate electricity?
Yes, solar panels do require direct sunlight to generate electricity. While they can still produce some electricity in indirect or diffused sunlight, their efficiency significantly decreases without direct sunlight. Direct sunlight provides the optimal conditions for solar panels to convert sunlight into electricity effectively.
Q: Around this time here in Georgia we will begin to get some big storms with high winds. I have a solar panel on a mount that isn't all that sturdy and could be knocked over with any winds pretty much above 5mph. I can't put anything in the ground to do this. I used to have it mounted to the roof of a playground for the most sunlight, but because of the angle of the sun and the tree leaves, I have to have it on a quot;portablemount so I can move it throughout the day, and I can tell you one thing is certain, and that's that it isn't the most sturdy thing ever. I'll have it a little better next weekend but it'll still be able to easily blow in the wind. Should I just hang the panel along the wall during a storm then reconnect it to its base once it's over?I'm pretty good with wood, so any wood creations to help out with the thing would greatly help. Just please keep it on a low budget.
You have to make the decision weather you want it portable or stationary. If you want stationary I would make some good brackets for them / search for cheap ones on OKorder. I'd have to see them to be able to offer any better suggestions. It's always hard to decide so you'll have to take notes and do research.
Q: . Do they scratch easily? How do I remove snow from them without scratching them?2. What does the upkeep of many solar panels consist of? I want to have my electricity completely off of the grid.3. Are all solar panels made from the same material, regardless of size?
anythign can be scratched/ruined/altered if not tended to properly.... remove the first biggest layer of snow and leave a lil under to try to see first if it melts away on its own (dpeendin what season of course) if not than get some luke warm water and soak the snow.... slosh it off with a rubber shovel or mop.broom whatever wont damage ur panels. anythign you take care of will last longer and take care of you.... and solar is expensive to put in and can be expensive to maintain . depends where you have most sun and depends how many resources you use, if you leave the tv on absent mindely all night and take 50 min showers or blast the heat with jsut on epathetic lil donwpour of rain instead of just BUNDLING UP like a alot of lazy *** ameicans and.or rich careless bastards of course youa re goign to be paying up and out of your asshhhhh-hooooo and nooooo there are some different materials solar panels are made of, there is a main base/core they use but im sure there are AT MOST two...the rest is either glass or plastic! depends for what you want and how many , includign size.... good luck!!!! excuse my typos
Q: I need to know where I can buy the parts or find them as scrap to make my own solar panels. Is there a cheap way of buying the panels or can I make them myself.
You can buy a box broken cells and solder them together and save big bucks.
