- sorry but it must be a cultural thing .. I'm an aussie and that was how I was brought up too .. you place the plug in the sink hole and allow it to fill and wash from there.... spit is mainly only saliva anyway and GUESS WHAT .. that's already in your mouth ... the thing is you should wash the sink down after you use it so it is clean for others to use.. it is better than wasting water .
