Q:im my home work i was asked to draw a lewis structure that will result from the combination of aluminum and oxygen and then write the correct neutral formulaim pretty sure i got the lewis structure right but im not sure how the formula is saposed to be writen.this is what i gotAl has 3 electrons and O has 6 so therefore you need 2 Al for every 3 O2[al]^+3 3[n(with 8 dots)]^-2Al2O3so is the formula saposed to be writen the first way with the brackets or is the formula the second way where you just state the number of each element?
Depends on what you call low-techBe sure wherever you go that open fires are allowedI would take a tent, coleman stove and light, water proof matches insect repellent(with Deet) Cot and mattress.(snakes love to cuddle under warm bodies)a cot will get you off the ground.Take plenty water and don't forget the Bacon and Eggs, they are the best when campingOf course take a skilletLeave the video games, radios and TV at home, Enjoy nature at its bestTHATS CAMPING of course my style now is HOLIDAY INN Enjoy

Q:The connection between the aluminum wire going to the house (Power company) and the copper wire going into the house (home owner) at the breaker box became loose, due to fifty years of operation and an overloaded main circuit (we only had 100 amps going into the house - we've since upgraded) and it caught fire. The house itself didn't burn down (thank God), but it easily could have. From asking my electrician and reading other Answers here, it seems that having Aluminum wire outside the house is pretty common - it is a bunch cheaper than copper. But aluminum wire has been implicated in a lot of fires and seems to have been the cause of this one.Do power companies really use aluminum wire the majority of the time? Is this (usually) safe? Do I have reason to raise a stink, or should I just let it go?
Normal Service entrance conductors for residential wiring is aluminum. If you looked it up in the NEC you be able to get the rating and size wire required for the particular amperage that you need. The biggest problem with Al wire are the terminations if they are not rated for al then the difference between the two types of material can cause different heating and cooling ratios which well cause the connection to get loose and when current flows across the loose connection that well create lots of heat and arcing which can cause a fire. Even internal wiring in pre 1975 homes may have AL conductores run throughout the house, but these are safe also as long as no has changed the devices that they are attached to when replacing a receptacle that's wired with AL wire make sure the device is rated for AL wire usally stamped AL/CU which is good for AL or copper. and they make special wire nuts to connect AL wire to copper wire if your device doesn't state AL/CU. You can use copper wire for your service but at a higher cost and you most likely well have to use conduit to run the copper in a very expensive job.
Q:When replacing an old static caravan roof is there a way to build a vaulted ceiling but so there are no ties? Possibly something to do with strengthening the walls so they take the extra weight of the roof? And also what steps are made in insulating and rendering a caravan of approx 30ft length and what kind of price am i looking at?Any tips/ hints or full answers are really appreciatedThanks, Drew
I do not understand all the Britishisms of a static roof and rendering a caravan be patient with me and I will suggest a working plan for a new roof on your trailer/camper you really do not much extra weight on the walls if you use aluminum angle and C shaped pieces to support the new roof the roof cross pieces should be spaced to hold the weight from side to side of the camper the aluminum cross pieces are to be anchored to aluminum like sections of angle that run the length of the camper not sure what you plan to use as the top covering of the camper [[ products vary in UK to USA ]] run your interior lighting and side near roof driving/running light wires while the roof is open apply batts of insulation to the interior plywood roof panels and at this point you will apply the interior ceiling light fixtures having done all this you are now ready to close the roof with the exterior sheet metal galvanized covering or the product of your choice or what is necessary hopefully this gives you some direction to start just take it one step at a time so you do not waste materials or your labor time .
Q:Heat radiation is poorly emitted and absorbed by shiny surfaces but well emitted and absorbed by dark surfaces.Explain the following in terms of heat radiation.1.Shiny aluminium foil containers are used in take-away restaurants.2When runners pass through the finish at the London Marathon they are given a blanket made of shiny aluminium foil to wrap around them.3The cooling fins on the back of power amplifiers are painted dull black.4.Space suits are usually shiny white.5If you focus the heat from the sun onto a piece of paper, using a magnifying glass, it is easier to make a section covered in black print catch fire than a section of white paper.
1and 2Same reason: the alu foil reflects the radiated heat from the food and the runner back inside, to prevent colling off3Cooling fins work by radiating accumulated heat awaySo they radiate better when they are black4White reflects the most of the infalling radiation, so it prevent the astronauts to become too hot5That is so because, all other things being equal the black surface absorbs heat more efficiently than the white surface.
Q:By long, I mean like 2-3 weeks. What are some tips and things I should know for camping? Any places that (in general) aren't good for camping? What about a list of materials I will need?Thank you)
Make macaroni and cheese and add fried burger to it and some kind of vegetables such as peas and carrotsThe stuff comes out greatYou can use boxed mac and cheese such as Kraft which is easy to make itself then add everything and let it simmerYou can also do the same with riceYou can get the Lipton rice Medely and then add fried burger and some vegetablesSimmer and serve I make both of these once and awhile and they are great Serve both with buttered toasted bread, rolls or even garlic bread.
