- Q: I just moved to a new house (less than 2 years old). The contractor who lived in it put in a central smoke alarm system. Each room has its own smoke alarm and when one goes off, they all go off. Problem is, one always chirps (in the upstairs bedroom). It started to be once a month. We would hit the reset button, ALL of them would squeal for 30 seconds, and all would be fine. Then the same one would start chirping every week. NOW it's every 3 days!Does this matter? We live in a two story home. We live on the first floor and don't purposefully heat the upstairs. (Extra bedrooms that we don't need at this time.) The smoke alarm that goes off is in the upstairs bedroom (unused). At first I thought it was carbon monoxide and I put a detector in there but it still reads zero. It seems like they are plugged in and not battery operated. Well, we can't figure how to get the covers off of them. Who should I call? An electrician? I don't know the brand of alarm system.
- You can find out if it has a bayonet fitting by asking Comet and they are obliged to answer truthfully. If both have a bayonet hose then you should just need to unplug the old one and plug in the new one without a gas man. If the new one has no hose which is unlikely then the gas man could easily put the old one onto the new cooker if it is in good condition.
- Q: Should I worry about bottoming out on speed bumps? Also, i live upstate NY with alot of bad potholes and winters are bad with snow and roads generally crappy.. Do the bottoms bend/dent, scrape easily on such stuff? One more thing, do body kits say how close they are to the ground when buying them online is there anyway of knowing how far from the ground some kits are?ty
- The Collar is called a DiElectric union. It separates the copper and steel pipes preventing electrolysis which is corrosive. No Vaseline necessary.
- Q: can I use Microsoft access for my website's user login credentials ?
- dont use poly pipe for mainline. it will leak on you. soon and it sucks really i have seen what happens. i repair sprinkler systems for aliving. use a 1in mainline PVC pipe and lateral lines then use 1.5 inch poly pipe for the heads. no more than 2 per poly pipe. dont listen to those online designs. a professionally installed system will not include poly pipe for mainline. it just will not work properly. edit you didnt say main line or lateral line you just said poly and supply line. supply line could be your houses water line. either way the 1in and 3/4 in poly lines are crap. seen it fail. many times. just trying to help you out. for residential the best way to do it is with a 1in main line and lateral lines and use 1/2 in poly pipe no more than 2 heads to three heads max per poly line. average 5-6 rotors per zone and 8 misters per zone. maybe 10 at most.
- Q: ok key won't turn in ignitioni know about the ignition lock cylinder problemmy question is if i buy an ignition lock cylinderfrom an auto parts store with or without additional keys and change it out will i be able to start the car? Or will I have to got dealer?
- Of course, the best solution is to replace the valve. Valves are either soldered on or attached to the pipe with compression fittings. If the pipe is copper and you see a silver band of metal between the pipe and the valve, that's probably solder. In this case, it would be best to let a plumber replace the valve. Otherwise, if your valve is attached with a compression fitting, you can get a new valve at your local home improvement store in the plumbing section. I recommend getting a 1/4 turn, steel ball valve. These are very simple and reliable valves. When you remove the old valve, be sure to also remove the compression washer and shoulder nut as well. You'll want to use the new ones that come with your valve. I also recommend using Teflon tape to wrap the threads of your new valve, at least two times in the direction of nut tightening. This will reduce the chance of leakage through the threads. Tighten the compression washer between the valve and the shoulder nut snugly. Make sure the valve is off. Turn the water on and check for leaks. If you see periodic drips, tighten the shoulder nut until the dripping stops. The other cheap and dirty alternative is to get a cap for your existing valve. These are also available in the plumbing section of your home improvement store. They run about $2-3, I believe, and are threaded onto the faucet where your hose attaches. That will keep your leaking valve from dripping all over the place.
- Q: G1/8 "pipe joint end special sealing WD-B02 is what mean
- The sealing effect is better than the traditional O ring. The elastomeric seals are used as axial static seals for threaded oil and screw ends, and the cross section remains almost constant at high pressure.

- Q: I know water doesnt work since the gasoline just floats on top of it, and I have heard that smothering the fire with a blanket or towel (to deprive the fire of oxygen) will work. But, besides smothering, how else can you put out a fire that is caused by gasoline?

- For most locations in the states you will use the line sizing tables in NFPA 54, the Fuel Gas Code, if you are in Canada as your name might suggest, you will want to check with the local authority having jurisdiction over your installation. The line sizing tables for gas are all basically the same, but some local jurisdictions use slight variations of the nationally recognized standards. You want to be careful using online tables; some tables are for liquid lines that are completely different than vapor service lines. Any tables you see that give flow reduction rates for various pipe fittings are for liquid service. Give the inspector a call and just inquire about what tables and standards are used in your area. Because it’s a school your installation may also require schedule 80 pipe, which will need to be color coded and labeled with flow direction arrows as well. It’s worth doing your homework before you start a job like you have there, because you don’t want to have to go back and re-do things later. Probably not the answer you’re looking for, but I hope it helps.
