Q: watspn realty has a course for about 3 weeks.. around 300 dollars.. the local community college has a course for 2 yr.. will cost a lot more.. which would be better and why would a real estate company offer one for only a fraction of the time and cost as the school would.. what to agents make: Do NOT try to sell real estate for the next 3 years. The first thing you should know is that, YOU DONT LEARN ANYTHING ABOUT GETTING BUSINESS IN REAL ESTATE CLASS. The only thing you learn is how not to get sued, and how to understand the termanoligy. I have been an agent for about eight years, and I dont think I use more than ten percent of what I learned. Your real education begins when they through you to the wolves. The thing about being a real estate agent is that it seems so cool. You get to work whenever you want, you dont have a boss, and you can work whenever you want. The problem is that its not like that. Well its not like that for the people that make money. The truth about being successfull is that you have to go in at 7 or 8 every day. You need to look for leads (expireds, FSBOs, Sphere, Website, and so on) to keep your business running.Then you have to call them. This is not always easy with the new do not call list. You have to look them up first. I dont think the market will have a big impact on your business if you work hard. Most agent know what they have to do to be successfull, but they dont. It is just too easy to say that the market is slow, or any other number of excuses they come up with. The best thing to do is get the book Success as a Real Estate Agent for Dummies and follow it closely. You cant pick and choose what methids you use to get business in the begining. Besides most of us agents get our wealth when the market is bad. We just buy buy buy, and then when it picks up again we sell sell sell. You will learn more as time goes on.

You may select one that you might want to use. Once you pass the Michigan Real estate test and have acquired your license, legally you would only be able to sell real estate for others is Michigan. To sell real estate in another state you must meet the requirements of that state and pass their real estate exam to obtain a real estate license. Some states might allow you to take the real estate exam based on the fact that you are licensed in another state. You would have to check the requirements of each state in which you would like to sell real estate. Once you have successfully completed the requirements and have your license, I think the most important thing you can do is come up with the best marketing plan you are able to come up with. Most states require a real estate salesman's course be taken and then the individual must pass the state examination to obtain a license. Please keep in mind that all the above referenced real estate sales in the course teaches you is about the lot in your state. It will not teach you how to fill out contracts, develop leads, show properties, hold open houses, etc. etc. If you are getting into the real estate business for the first time I would suggest that you approach the local offices of the major real estate companies (franchise companies) to begin your career. To be more specific I would suggest you contact your local Century 21 office as it is this type of company that will have the best and most complete training for a novice. You will need to study, learn scripts, learn how to farm, complete contracts etc. etc. but you will learn it faster here than at a local independent agency that doesn't have the training resources that someone like Century 21 does. You will have to work hard and diligent the first couple years until you develop the skills to develop leads and service customers. After the first 2 to 3 years you will have the opportunity to earn a satisfactory income based upon your labors. Real estate is a great business as people are always buying and selling homes.
