A:Usually for new customer,we will do TT or LC at sight.
- Q: Is there a free site or resource that will teach you how to do this? Hopefully step by step and tells you how to buy all the parts ect?Which is the best resource for sale earth4energy, homemadeenergy, ect? Do they actually work and also as well as those which are professionally done? They say it will cost under $200 for a panel, but how much will this panel actually produce I mean how many panels would you have to make to produce 00% of your homes energy?
- I have no idea the out put of the panel you plan to make, but $200.00 will not even come close to power much. You don't say whether you want to power your house straight from the solar panels (not possible, because the sun doesn't shine 24/7). That being said, you will need a very large array to power your house, going to battery's to inverter to get AC power. Your initial cost would be around $25000,00, but you might be eligible for a tax rebate and maybe a rebate from your state and power company. There is a lot more to be said on the subject, but this is enough to either get you started or discouraged.
- Q: if car companies install solar panels on cars, like in all the car were the sun can reach that would reduce the consumption of gas in the summer, and might save some energy for winter and if that energy is not enough they can use gas or electricity i think that would be a lot of savings, and less contamination i don't know that is my idea what do you people think?
- Yes. But you won't be able to go very fast. If you fill up the roof, hood and trunk lid of for example, a Toyota corolla, with the most efficient solar panels you can buy, you might get 2 hp in the mid day sun. That could push the car maybe 2 mph on a flat, and wouldn't get it up a hill unless it had super low gearing. In order to go fast enough on solar power to make it worth while, you need a large area of solar panels and a super light car. Like an aluminum tube frame with a foam and fiberglass composite body, skinny, high pressure tires and a solar array 6 ft wide by 2 feet long. A car like that, with good aerodynamics and a 6 hp motor could get up to 45 mph eventually, just slowly. But it's impractical because it's not safe to drive it with other cars around. But who says the panels have to be on the car? If you have a solar array that feeds as much power into the grid as you take out, that is essentially equal to being solar powered in all practical ways. Even if your car can't be entirely solar powered, that don't mean you shouldn't use solar panels. You could use solar panels in any car, to supplement battery charging, taking load off the alternator, and you would see an increase in fuel economy. There is a system on some cars that uses solar power to circulate air through the cabin when the car is sitting in the sun. This keeps the car up to 30 degrees cooler, taking a huge load off the air conditioner, so instead of pumping all that heat out, you simply vent it into the air, and there is an increase in fuel economy for a few minutes. Every little bit counts.
- Q: I want to install a solar panel system and our power grid can't work in reverse(so it get its electricity from us). My question is how do you prevent electricity from our panel to go to the grid without disconnecting the grid? How can we also use the grid and the panel at the same time when the panel are not creating enough power?PS dont say ask an electrician
- If you are grid-tied, then a standard solar electric system will always feed back into the grid if you are not utilizing more power in your home than is being generated by the solar panels and inverter system. It is possible that a grid isolation device designed to prevent direct back feeding is available, but haven't heard of one in common use. New laws in most areas of the US are now mandating that utilities allow grid-tied alternative energy systems. Double-check you local laws. Sometimes you can't take the utilities word for truth--most will automatically say 'no' and will only relent when you show up with the law in hand. Unfortunately, some utilities have figured out another way to shut down alternative energy pioneers--they demand multimillion dollar insurance policies covering damage that their equipment could sustain from your little PV system. Technically, they are still in compliance with the law, they just make it impossible for a homeowner to meet their requirements. If you are getting the runaround, go to your state representative for help. It's amazing how contrite those utility people can be when a state senator (or even US Senator) has just sent a letter asking them why they are stonewalling a law-abiding and well-meaning citizen. Good luck, and don't give up!
- Q: i hav e a project for school we need to calculate cost to buy and install solar panels in our school
- to okorder / you should really be able make report with this informatin. So for your school it would cost millions, you need to figure out how many kilowatts your school use, then use the information above to calculate how large of system would be required you will be very impressive and the most informed person in your school.
- Q: I want to add solar panels to my home. I was looking online and it seems there are so many different kinds! How does it hook up to the electrical grid? How much do I need for a 2000 sf home?
- There are different solar panels for different uses For a domestic home it all depends on how much electricity you are going to use per month or per year For a normal use home (2 adults, 2 children) I presume one need to install a panels that would produce about4 to 5000 Kilo wats of energy per year Based on the type and the out put of the panels the suppler and the person who is advising you will guide you how many panels you will be requiring to install Take a professional help They are better informed and also knowledgeable
- Q: They have been around long enough to be cheaper. Unless they are made out of a natural material that is rare and hard to find, there is no reason why they should be so expensive. On another note, I think that all low power devices like cell phones and even laptops should have solar panels. Even if it is not enough to fully power the device for a long period of time, it will provide some electricity savings and with millions of people saving a little power adds up.
- Because most solar cells are made from silicon crystals that is grown very slowly. Growing silicon crystals from pure silicon is an extremely slow and expensive process.
- Q: I have created a solar setup in my shed i have 2x.5w solar panels i am hoping to charge my 55ah car battery how long would it take to charge the battery and how many watts could i used a day
- To charge a 2V lead acid battery, you pretty much have to put almost 24V across it and it's only 50% efficient at charging so if your solar panel does put out 3W, you can expect 3/24/2 or /6th of an amp in usable charging. Therefore, from a flat battery, it would take 55*6 or 880 hours to charge the battery. If you assume about 6 hours of usable sunlight per day, that would be 47 days not taking into consideration the normal leakage that lead acid batteries have. It's quite likely that the leakage rate will be greater than the charging rate and the battery will never charge. You'll need a bigger solar panel.
- Q: How do solar panels affect the insurance premiums of a home?
- Solar panels can potentially have a positive impact on home insurance premiums. While the initial installation cost of solar panels may increase the value of a home, they can also lower the risk of fire damage and reduce reliance on the grid. As a result, some insurance companies offer discounts or special policies for homes with solar panels, which may lead to lower insurance premiums in the long run. However, it is important to consult with individual insurance providers as policies can vary.
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a space station?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a space station. In fact, many space stations, including the International Space Station (ISS), utilize solar panels as their primary source of electrical power. These panels convert sunlight into electricity, providing a sustainable and renewable energy source for the space station's various systems and experiments.
- Q: Can solar panels be used for powering agricultural irrigation systems?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power agricultural irrigation systems. Solar-powered irrigation systems are increasingly being used in agriculture as they provide a sustainable and cost-effective solution. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which can then be used to power pumps and other irrigation equipment, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and electricity grids. This approach helps farmers save on energy costs and reduces their carbon footprint.
