- Q: Can solar panels be connected to the grid?
- Yes, solar panels can be connected to the grid.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a residential community or housing complex?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a residential community or housing complex. In fact, many residential communities and housing complexes are increasingly adopting solar energy as a sustainable and cost-effective power source. Installing solar panels can help generate clean and renewable electricity, reduce energy bills, and contribute to a greener environment.
- Q: Hi! I bought a Coleman 2 vdc cooler that pulls 9 amps. What size solar panel and amp-hour battery do I need? I only open it 3 times a day. It will hold about 3 gals of milk.
- If it pulls 9 amps continuously, that's 08 watts/hour or about 2.5 kwh/day. If it only pulls half that (does it cycle?) it's about .2 kwh/day. You only want to drain a lead-acid battery 50% or so, so you'll want a 5 or 2.5 kwh battery pack. A typical setup for the 5 kwh would be two L-6 batteries in series, and for the 2.5 kwh you could use 2 T-05 batteries in series. This does not account for days of cloud. If you regularly have cloudy days, size the battery pack for two or three days of use with no input (2-3 x the sizes given above). To charge them, you typically want panels that will charge your battery at least 5% of its capacity per hour (C/20). For 2 volt nominal panels that's 0 amps for the T-05 or 20 amps for the L-6 batteries. It's good to have more than that for battery life (it cuts down on what's called stratification), so you'll want probably 50-200 watts of panels for the T-05 and 300-400 for the L-6. You'll also need a charge controller. Peltier coolers are very inefficient. You'll save money by using a regular mini-fridge and an inverter. Most mini-fridges only draw 50 watts or so, so you're talking 600 watt-hours for a 50% duty cycle. This means two T-05 batteries will give you two days of use and you'll only need 20-50 watts of panel. DK
- Q: I have heard you can make your own solar panels.... But How?Where do you start? Is it cheap, or should I just BUY them already made?
- Well, I can think of a couple places, that you might have got that info from. There are several plans on the net. to build solar heaters from auxillary window units, to full thermal mass walls, with stacked 55 gallon barrels painted flat black, and filled with water. Old Mother Earth News magazines are a great source for these, but its basically sittin a closed box in the sun. . . Not very sexy, and not exactly Rocket Science, I'm thinkin what your askin about is Photovoltaics. Basically a reaction in a silicon chip, that pushes an electron toward the grid. Electiricty producing solar panels, are beyond the capabilities of a single person, however, they''re are (or were a couple months ago). a couple retail sales OKorder stores, scavaging they''re broken panels, cutting out the individual single cells, and then selling them as kits, with instructions how to wire, solder and assmeble working cells. Thats probably what your hearing about, and I think they ended up being about /2 price what they''re new ones sell for. Then you can move on to the bottlemeck problem, that all the green alternative ideas run into . . .How to store it Good luck, and Good Hunting . . Tim
- Q: We've been considering solar panels for a while now, and we'd like to know a little more about them. Please answer to the best of your knowledge. Thanks.
- Solar Panels are a very good choice for our economy today. We can save thousands of dollars a year of electric bills. But they are not practical to buy because these cost thousands of dollars. For the brand new solar panels and installation, it cost more than $20,000 which is not good. They also offer buy now pay later option but it is not good either because it puts you in debt. The solution is, why not do it yourself. There are do-it-yourself guides that shows you step-by-step on how to make solar panels. They are very cheap too. All-in-all, it'll cost you less than $200. But be careful, you might find a DIY solar panel guide are not advisable to someone who don't have experience on them. There is one DIY solar panel guide that I can recommend. It is cheap and it doesnt require you to be a handyman to do it. Check out the site below. If you want to know more about solar panels, check some reviews about it. I included some sites as well.
- Q: how much energy does solar panels save you? (like a month, year, etc)
- It depends on the size of the solar panels and the intensity of the solar-light. So, there's difference in every place. It's impossible to answer unless there's detail of panel size, panel quantities, average rainfall, average solar days, etc.
- Q: I'm looking for some advice on hot water solar panels. I'm trying to save some money on electricity. A neighbor has been suggesting solar powered equipment for some time now, and I think he's right. It does save quite a bit of money in the long run. They're kind of expensive though, so I'm looking for cheaper alternatives.
- Solar Power is great. I installed it myself about 2 years ago, and you really do notice the change within the first couple months. Building it yourself is actually pretty tricky without the right resources. Some of the guides don't have enough detailed information that you need when you start putting the project together. I was having a lot of trouble until I stumbled upon a site that was offering some great resources for solar DIY projects. I went ahead and added it to the sources section below. It's great and has everything you would need for putting your own solar projects together, including hot water solar panels. Hope this helps!
- Q: How do solar panels affect my electricity bill?
- Solar panels can significantly reduce your electricity bill by producing clean and renewable energy from the sun. By generating your own electricity, you can offset the amount of power you need to purchase from the grid, resulting in lower monthly bills. Additionally, if your solar panels generate more electricity than you consume, you may even receive credits or payments from your utility company.
- Q: I have heard a lot about solar panels and I want to know how these solar panels works and is it really possible to generate electricity using solar panels. And what is the cost of getting a solar panel installed?
- Solar okorder
- Q: I'm thinking of doing solar panel but i don't know how much they are i need help! please!
- no one has answered because you asked a question that cannot be answered. It is exactly the same question as how much is a car?. Do you want a passive solar heating panel, a solar electric panel, .5 Volts, ,000,000 BTUs, do you want just the panel or the panel installed and functioning, or what? the answer is between $5 and $5,000,000.
