Introduction
poly solar cells are currently the fastest developing a solar cell, its structure and production process has been finalized, the products have been widely used for space and ground. Such solar cells with high purity silicon rods as raw materials. Silicon rods, material performance indicators in order to reduce production costs, and now solar terrestrial applications such as the use of solar grade somewhat relaxed. Some semiconductor devices can also be used for processing materials and discard the head and tail of silicon materials, solar cells after re-drawn into a dedicated silicon rod.

- Q: Hi, i want to please a solar panel in Lima Peru, my Latitude is -2 and longitude -77. I understand that since i am in the southern hemisphere, my panel should be pointing north. However, i am using a program called pvdesigner, and according to this, y should face my panel with and azimuth of 00degrees (0 = south) and a tilt of 60degrees. Does this make any sense?thanks
- It doesn't make sense to me. I am at latitude 37.7,and my panels face south at about 38 degrees. Yours should be pointed north as you suggest. Being so close to the equator, and in the absence of any better information, an angle of 2 degrees would be appropriate. However, choosing the best angle will greatly to your overall efficiency, so I would try to find a more credible source, How about the folks from whom you buy the panels. They would know precisely. By the way, if you haven't installed the system yet you might consider going to a high voltage system to cut known line losses in the conductors between the panes and the inverter, I did that plus increasing the conductor size over that recommended by the manufacturer. I gained about two percent in efficiency
- Q: Are there any maintenance requirements for solar panels?
- Yes, solar panels do have maintenance requirements. While they are generally low maintenance, they need to be kept clean and free from debris to ensure optimal performance. Periodic inspections for any damage or shading issues are also recommended. Additionally, the electrical connections and inverters may require occasional maintenance or servicing.
- Q: Can solar panels be used for charging outdoor power tools?
- Yes, solar panels can be used for charging outdoor power tools. They can harness sunlight and convert it into electricity, which can then be used to charge the batteries of outdoor power tools. This allows for a sustainable and convenient way to power these tools without relying on traditional electricity sources.
- Q: I have a 2 volt deep cylce Everstart battery with 845 cranking amps, and a Grape Solar GS-S-250-Fab5 250-Watt Monocrystalline Solar Panel . I use them to power a 48Flat screen TV, a Roku, my 65 watt consuming MacBook Pro, and a 65 watt Fan.I know from previous experience that just the battery, an inverter, and the fan, that the fan will blow for 0 hours straight.Should I really be concerned with a Charge Controller?
- Should I really be concerned with a Charge Controller? Yes. The main purpose of the charge controller is to protect the battery from over charging. Over charging reduces battery life. And spending extra money for a MPPT type controller will get more more useable power out of your solar panel. Would another battery of the same magnitude be helpful in preventing an accident? How much storage capacity does your current battery have (measured in kWH)? A ~$20 Kill-a-Watt meter would take a lot of uncertainty out of how much power you actually use. Even deep cycle batteries suffer reduced battery life from deep discharges. The battery sounds too small for the loads you describe so I would think you would want more. ---------------------------------------... After reading the other answer In a nutshell, with your small 2 volt starting battery, 24 volt panel and a mix of unknown loads, (which is correct), I thought I would elaborate. I had not considered the possibility that you bought a 24 volt panel for your 2 volt battery. Hooking the panel you bought directly to the current battery is a horrible idea. I you were lucky it would just cook the battery in a short period of time. You basically bought the wrong type of panel for a 2 volt system. I assume that there are no controllers on the the market for this situation. If that's the case, I don't know of any good way match the 24v panel to the 2 volt battery.
- Q: The average solar panel produces 0% of the energy that is put into it. What is happening to the other 90%? Is it being reflected or is it being obsorbed by materials that are not a part of the solar cell? Is it possible to one day have near 00% efficient solar cell technology?
- Unlikely that we gan get to near 00% efficiency, although there is room for improvement. In the meantime, don't pooh-pooh 0% efficiency. That's about the rate of energy transfer up a food pyramid, perhaps a little less at the solar to plant level. As this manages to provide the basis for most of life on earth, it's nothing to sneeze at. As far as the other 90% goes, I would guess that much of it is reflected.
- Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of seismic vibrations?
- Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of seismic vibrations. However, it is important to ensure that the solar panel installation is structurally sound and designed to withstand the vibrations caused by seismic activities. Additional measures such as reinforced mounting systems or flexible support structures may be needed to enhance the resilience of the solar panels in such areas.
- Q: How do solar panels affect property value?
- Solar panels can have a positive impact on property value by increasing the overall value of a property. Studies have shown that homes with solar panels tend to sell for a higher price compared to similar homes without solar installations. The energy savings and potential income from selling excess electricity to the grid can make a property more attractive to buyers, leading to a higher selling price and increased property value.
- Q: I am in need of solar panels and the batteries that I can store the energy in. I need to be able to run a laptop, cell phone, and LED lights from it. When I research I see all sorts of options with regards to watts, VMPs, and AMPs. I also see that I may need a controller, an inverter, and various other components. Can anyone help me through these terms and what i need to know in order to efficiently generate and store the electricity. Thanks
- You can not really store electricity. a battery may seem like it, but it won't store it forever. What you can do, is let a professional installer install solar panels on your house. They will connect this to the mains electricity. If you are not using the electricity, then it will be distributed to others. You will receive money for this (or actually, you'll have to spend less yourself). So lets say you use 000 kwh a month (is alot) But the solar panels produce 500 kwh a month (is alot) Then you will only have to pay for 000-500=500 kwh, while you used 000 kwh. Solar panels are an investment, they cost much to install, but they will save you're energy bill.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on satellites?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on satellites. In fact, solar panels are commonly used to provide power to satellites in space.
- Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of seismic activity?
- Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of seismic activity. However, special design considerations and installation techniques may be required to ensure their stability and withstand potential earthquake forces.
