Q:hi,i have 4 solar panels. I can get 9V 400mA when i wired them parallel. The question is: how can i make a regulator circuit to store power into batteries.
wire them in series parallel to get 8 volts at 200 mA, and that should charge a 2 volt battery. You may want to put in a series diode to prevent the battery from discharging into the panel when the sun is out. At 200 mA, depending on the battery size, you may not need much control, as that low a current will not overcharge a large battery, like a small auto battery. In fact it will take a very long time to charge it. edit: But do i need to add a regulator? If by that you mean a voltage regulator, no, as a solar panel has a high output resistance, and that will limit the current into the battery. If you mean a charge controller, if the battery is small, you may need a charge contoller to avoid overcharging the battery. But that is not a voltage regulator. .
Q:Are there any government incentives or tax credits for installing solar panels?
Yes, there are indeed government incentives and tax credits available for installing solar panels. These incentives and credits vary by country and even by state within a country. Many governments offer tax credits, grants, or rebates to promote the adoption of solar energy. Additionally, some countries have implemented feed-in tariffs, which allow solar panel owners to sell excess electricity back to the grid at a premium rate. It is advisable to check with local authorities or consult a professional to understand the specific incentives and tax credits available in your area.
Q:in a solar panel, i know that the electrons are knocked loose and used as energy, what happens to the protons?
Here okorder /... Within this structure, the electrons are not really lost from the system. An electron just gets enough energy (from light) to be able to leave its atom, and float freely around the structure. Hence you have electrons in motion, which is the definition of electric current. If the lights go out, the electrons just settle back into one of the atoms that is missing an electron.
Q:I was watching an idiot abroad, and I saw a family that lived in tent like huts, with no plumbing. And they had a solar panel, now if they can afford it, I know I can. Where do you get cheap ones?
you okorder . all you have to do is watch the video.
Q:I'm doing a project for school and I'm a little confused about energy and solar panels. I'm looking to propose installation of solar panels to power the computer lab at my school. From what I've read a computer and monitor use roughly 350 watts per hour. I was looking at solar panels and it says they produce various wattage. For example, I was looking at one rated at 200 watts. Does that mean 200 watts in a day? Or per hour? Please help.
The rating of a solar panel is a maximum continuous rating. A 200 Watt panel will give a maximum of 200 watts under ideal conditions. A computer and monitor use about 400 Watts. not per hour - watts is Volts * Amps and a measure of Power. In hour a computer and monitor uses 400 Watt hours (Wh). Wh is a measure of Energy. To power a lab of 0 computers you will need 0* 400 = 4000 Watts. To run this from solar panels through the day only you would need a 4000 Watt panel. Except - its cloudy, the sun is in the wrong place - many factors reduce the output. To be reasonably safe you would need about a 2000 Watt panel. Then you would need batteries to store power through dull periods AND a voltage converter to change from low voltage DC from the solar panels to the mains voltage for your computers.
Q:I am learning all about heat radiation in Physics. There is a question I am doing about Solar panels. It asks, why do glass covers improve the efficient of solar panels? I dont really understand. How do they?? thanks :D x
Clear glass will allow most of the electromagnetic energy of sunlight into the air-tight volume of the solar panel. The light strikes the black coated metal tubes and the black coated backing, and is absorbed as heat. Part of this heat will radiate as infrared radiation, and much of this will leave through the glass. But a great deal of it will initially remain in the metal as heat. This heat will be partially transferred to the surrounding air, but because the glass stops the mixing of this air with the rest of the atmosphere, this heat will stay mostly contained within the solar panel. If the glass were not there, there would be a huge loss of heat into the surrounding air.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on bridges or highways?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on bridges or highways. This is known as solar roadways or solar bridges. These panels can generate electricity by harnessing sunlight and can be integrated into the surface of bridges or highways. However, the feasibility and practicality of such installations may vary depending on factors like structural considerations, cost, maintenance, and local regulations.
Q:if you know the area of the panel can u calculate for the wattage or voltage of the panel..
You need to know how many solar cells are in the panel and what is the rated current each cell will produce. This information should be listed on the panel. Each cell will produce from 0.5 to 0.55 volts DC per cell and each cell will produce a current that is dependent on the size of the cell and the type of material the cell is made from. If the cells are connected in series then the voltage of each cell will add together, that is if you have 30 cells connected in series they should generate about 5 to 6.5 volts DC. If each cell generates .2 amps, then you multiply the voltage of 5 volts DC times .2 amps DC equals 8 watts of power. The current of each cell does not add together when you connect the cells in series only the voltage of each cell. If you connect the 30 cells in parallel then the current of each cell adds together but the voltage of each cell does not. That is 0.5 Volts DC times 36 amps equals 8 watts. The power (watts) produced will be the same. See our blog on the products page to see how to connect solar cells in series and in parallel. We also have a PDF file of solar cells and their rated output current sorted by watts per area and their manufacturer.

Q:Can solar panels be installed on a restaurant or food establishment?
Yes, solar panels can definitely be installed on a restaurant or food establishment. In fact, many restaurants and food establishments are increasingly adopting solar energy as a sustainable and cost-effective solution to power their operations. By installing solar panels, these establishments can reduce their carbon footprint and save on energy costs in the long run.
