- Q: I want to insulate my floor in my house if i do so do i put up a plastic sheeting after i put in the insulate?
- Yes The vapor bearier faces outside away from any subtstrates or wood.It keeps moisture from getting the insulation wet and helps stop rotting should the insulation get wet. I would use a heavy mil thickness on your plastic. I have done this projest, Not fun, but well worth it. Also there are wire hangers you can use to hold op the insulation, speeds up the process. - Q: What is the effect of lining the bottom of your deep freezer with plastic sheets of material?
- I cannot think of any benefit to doing that unless the deep freezer has a bad seal and is constantly forming ice. As far as I can tell, the plastic sheet would only serve to contain the ice so that it is easier to clean the freezer. Naturally, you have to remove everything in the freezer in order to dump the ice off the plastic sheet, then put everything (including the plastic sheet) back in the freezer. I'm not an expert on this, but I think that your energy bill for the freezer would go up. Plastic doesn't really freeze at the temperatures you are talking about, so putting plastic sheets in a freezer just means that the freezer will have to draw that much more energy (as it tries to freeze plastic). A little Google research showed me that the 'line with plastic sheets' thing is a do-it-yourself measure to try to cover up the problem(s) with the original plastic liner of the freezer. It doesn't look like it works. Perhaps time to start budgeting for a new freezer.

You will be able to use the rest of it for other drop cloths and it is a handy thing to keep around the house for emergencies anyway.

- they actually sell them at walmart! they're not expensive at all, they sell them for people with allergies and people who have problems wetting the bed... they're in the same section as the rest of the sheets. they have the kind that can wash off with a wash cloth or the kind that have a cloth top like a regular sheet that is plastic underneath so it's not such a plasticy feeling on top when you sleep on it that you just throw in the washer when you need to wash it...

- There are many kinds of polycarbonate and steel corrugated roof panels on the market, and where I live they don't meet the building codes. They are fine for an outbuilding, porch, greenhouse, or polebarn, but not for use on a habitated structure. Make a call to the local building inspector and ask him, also ask him if they are acceptable for your intended use.
