- Q: My model rocket's (currently being built) body tube has a slight issue.First, this is how im making it.Taking a plastic tube, I wrap a piece of construction paper around it, and glue it. (not to the tube, but to itself so I can slide out the tube, and have a cylindrical paper mold.) Next, I take a special type of paper with water-activated adhesive on one side, and wrap it around the construction paper. However, now that everythings dry, I find that upon gluing the construction paper, I also glued it to the tube. Now the plastic tube is stuck within. How can I get it out without tearing my outer shell?Im guessing with heat/cold, but Im not sure.
- I appreciate your effort - it's cool that your're making your material from scratch. I don't know if your tube can be salvaged, but next time, wrap the plastic cylinder with one wrap of waxed paper (like Cut-Rite, available in most grocery stores) before wrapping your adhesive paper around. Then it should slip off the plastic mold and you can pull the waxed paper out of the center of the newly-formed paper tube.
- Q: My friend gave me a bunch of mortars and i have never set off mortars before and i was wondering what you could use for a tube. Also how long does it need to be? first answer gets voted best by me

- Q: How are plastic tubes stored and transported?
- Plastic tubes are typically stored and transported in a variety of ways depending on their size, shape, and material. They are commonly stored in cardboard boxes, plastic bags, or on specialized racks or shelves to prevent damage and ensure easy access. For transportation, they are often packed into larger containers, such as crates or pallets, and secured with straps or shrink wrap to prevent shifting or breakage during transit. Additionally, tubes that are particularly fragile or sensitive may be individually packed or cushioned to provide extra protection.
- Q: What are the common lengths of plastic tubes?
- The common lengths of plastic tubes vary depending on their purpose and application. However, some of the most commonly available lengths are 1 foot (30 cm), 2 feet (60 cm), and 4 feet (120 cm).
- Q: The dishwasher behind my bar at work has a leak. The pipe that's leaking is Parker Parflex PP 3/8 plastic tubing that connects into a metal nut and brings clean water in. The pipe has a leak exactly where it meets the nut, so in theory I could cut off the cracked portion and then re-seal it to the nut. Can I cut it with wire cutters? Should it be sanded after I cut it? Do I use a teflon sealant? Thanks for any help!
- That should be a compression fitting. If it's a brass fitting then they are one time use. You can get a new brass fitting, cut the PP tube clean with a knife or a razor blade - be careful not to cut yourself please, then install the nut over the tube, slip the compression ring over the tube and if there's an insert that goes inside the PP, insert that. Then push the hose into the fitting and slide the nut and ring to the threaded portion of the fitting and tighten it. Be careful to tighten it enough to seal but not so tight you cut through the pipe again. It's likely the reason you have the leak in the first place is because someone overtightened it. OR you can simply buy a replacement hose. I'd prefer a wire braid shielded pipe. Stronger and made with a professional fitting on the end, one you don't have to mess with. My opinion, replacing the tube is the better idea. And they're not stupidly expensive either. Good luck with your project. '')
- Q: would this exhibit electromagnetism just like a copper wire solenoid? Could it actually be even more efficient than a copper wire solenoid?
- Only if a current(which would be limited by the resistance of the salt water or copper) was applied. So your question is which has less resistance per unit of cross section.Which would be copper. So the answer is no it wouldn't be more efficient(excess heat).Besides to do so would be a hard task what with leaks, space for the plastic tube etc. since the field is determined by ampere turns.
- Q: Are plastic tubes resistant to UV degradation?
- Plastic tubes can vary in their resistance to UV degradation depending on the type of plastic used. Some plastics, like PVC and HDPE, have inherent UV resistance and can withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight without significant degradation. However, other plastics, such as polycarbonate or acrylic, may be more susceptible to UV damage and can degrade over time when exposed to UV radiation. Therefore, it is important to consider the specific type of plastic used in the tubes when determining their UV resistance.
- Q: Are plastic tubes resistant to static electricity?
- Yes, plastic tubes are generally resistant to static electricity. Plastic is an insulating material, which means it does not conduct electricity easily. Therefore, it does not typically accumulate static charges or allow static electricity to flow through it.
- Q: PVC flame retardant pipes have three kinds of ABC, heavy duty is not rigid flame retardant tube?
- The rigid flame retardant tube is usually made of white hard material. It is refractory and connected directly with the head or screw joint. The diameter of the small tube can be bent by spring. It is the most widely used electric threading pipe in plastic pipes.
- Q: Should I use them or take them off. They are currently on my strings, but my two lower strings sound really bad.
- I don't know what they're called and I don't play violin but I've seen them. They fit on the string where it passes over the bridge. I usually see them on the E string and I suspect it's to control the shrill highs. If they sound bad on your instrument, don't use them.
