- Q: I know that if I put solar panels in my home I will get 30% back from the govt. Does that mean if I pay 2K I will get back around a 3K check? Or will my income play a roll where I may not get back as much?
- Not a good answer: CNBC had a news bit, that it can take 0 to 20 years for you to break even in energy costs after installing solar panels. Please don't buy them just for the tax deduction. See if you can google a calculator for this - do research. I have a brother in law that buys anything under the sun just because he gets a tax deduction. I'm sure you're not like that though. Run the numbers of what you will save vs the 2K you will spend You may never break even
- Q: Can solar panels be installed in urban areas with limited space?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed in urban areas with limited space. There are various options available such as rooftop solar panels, building-integrated photovoltaics, and solar canopies that can be used to maximize the utilization of available space in urban areas. Additionally, advancements in solar technology have led to the development of more compact and efficient solar panels, making it easier to install them in limited spaces.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed in areas with frequent power outages?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed in areas with frequent power outages. In fact, solar panels can be a great solution for such areas as they generate electricity from sunlight, reducing dependency on the grid. With the addition of energy storage systems, solar panels can provide uninterrupted power supply during outages, making them a reliable and sustainable option.
- Q: I would like to connect a solar panel to a small fan. I am not sure as to what is needed to actually quot;connectthe two together. Any help is appreciated.
- If your fan uses a tiny motor like in a cell phone vibrator, you might be able to use just a few solar cells. Otherwise, you might find the voltage and current from a pre-assembled panel, and get a fan that uses less power. You will then likely need electronics to match the two up, and maybe a battery to keep it going when the sun goes down.
- Q: can this amount of solar charge these batteries.
- Well you are stating the solar panel powers but no mention of their voltage??. Yes, they should do the job. I suspect the lack of blocking diodes may be your problem, assuming you have done the homework. You have 6 battery cells at 2 volts each, that is ...err..2 volts, assuming you have them connected in series. Count the number of cells on the solar panels and maybe we have a starting point. One solar cell is 0.6 v, in this case you would need a minimum of around 30 cells (physically it will probably be 32 to make it 'square'), you need a fair bit of over- sizing in that direction. Solar panels are resistive when not illuminated so must have a blocking diode included to prevent the batteries from discharging into the solar panels at night. Check that each array has a blocking diode included, if not add them. Solar power is pretty useless unless you have loads of sunshine. You seem to have gone through a bit of trouble and expense on this one, so give me some basic facts and I will help you through it. Update 7 Dec If the batteries take 20 hours to fully charge and there are 0 hours of sun each day then the batteries will be fully charged in 2 days. The question was, can the battery be charged, answer is yes, it can. There is no mention of load. If the batteries are not charging there is something wrong.
- Q: I'm looking for some advice on hot water solar panels. I'm trying to save some money on electricity. A neighbor has been suggesting solar powered equipment for some time now, and I think he's right. It does save quite a bit of money in the long run. They're kind of expensive though, so I'm looking for cheaper alternatives.
- Solar Power is great. I installed it myself about 2 years ago, and you really do notice the change within the first couple months. Building it yourself is actually pretty tricky without the right resources. Some of the guides don't have enough detailed information that you need when you start putting the project together. I was having a lot of trouble until I stumbled upon a site that was offering some great resources for solar DIY projects. I went ahead and added it to the sources section below. It's great and has everything you would need for putting your own solar projects together, including hot water solar panels. Hope this helps!
- Q: Have a 20V 40W solar panel and it is attach to two backup batteries. Just want to know know how many watt of inverter do I need?
- 500 Watt Solar Panel
- Q: Is it good? ( solar energy)
- Solar power works by capturing photons from the sun and storing their energy in a battery. Solar panels still only capture a very small amount of photons due to technology/distance from the sun/ and probably a number of other reasons. If you wanted to buy a solar panel, you find a company that sells them, send them your electric bill for the past year or so. They calculate the energy restraints, size and additional technical mumbo jumbo. They tell you how much it costs and how much money you could save. Some people might buy a size larger than what they need, in which case they sell the excess energy to your local power company for a few pennies a month(this is usually not very profitable).
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on drones?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on drones. This allows them to generate power from sunlight and extend their flight time by reducing reliance on batteries. However, the size and weight constraints of drones present challenges, so the efficiency and effectiveness of solar panels on drones may vary.
- Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of seismic activity?
- Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of seismic activity. However, it is crucial to ensure that they are designed and installed to withstand earthquakes and other seismic events. Specialized mounting systems and structural reinforcements can be employed to enhance the resilience of solar panels in such areas, reducing the risk of damage or failure during seismic activity.
