- it is a real good idea to put sheet rock or paneling on the ceiling to help insulate that room and you also need to install more insulation - the rolled bats are going to help keep in the cooled a/c air and ward off the heat from above roof vents are good to take the hot air out of the attic .the bats of insulation have an R number and that will help you determine the best protection from the heat entering your room if the garage doors are still in place they also need insulating .
