Q:For a Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up. Not taking it to a mechanic.Already got the new pump. Got part of the engine off.Dont exactly have the right tools to make the job go fast but would like some tips on how to make it go faster..
Honestly having the Chilton or Hayes repair manual will help greatly in understanding how it should all come apart. They run about $25.00 at you auto parts store. Having the proper tools will make the job go as smooth and quickly as possible. Most basic kits and be picked up at auto part stores for around 65.00 bucks. This is the best advice I can give a beginner who has just jumped right in there. Watch what you are taking apart and make sure that it is something that HAS to come off. There is no reason taking something out of the car if it's not going to help the project. When you picked up the water pump did you make sure to get too new radiator hoses? I will often replace the upper and lower hose when I do water pumps. Most likely they have been on there as long as the pump and it's time to change them. Not to mention now would be a great time to replace the thermostat on the engine as well to allow proper water flow through the engine. Also make sure you have the distilled water handy with the anti-freeze. Using distilled water keeps the radiator from becoming clogged with minerals that are normally found in your city water. It helps extend the life of your cooling system. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions feel free to E-mail me.
Q:can this happen that pump is pressurizing system and no flow in suction.
Hi, It seems to me your question is miss- worded or it simply flew over over my head. I'm intending the same project when time is there for it. I m a' machine builder by trade as also an oilfeild welder so tend to trust my plans about design. My answer to your question is you can't suck water from a plugged pipe except one tiny amount that would create a vaccum. My plan is an inline hot water pump(automotive type) to go to and from the water heater while the pluming route may have radiators or other heat transfer sourses like plane pipeat various points of the house return in an open pipe flow lie.Thermostate control hooked tothe electric motor that drives the water pump
Q:i have an underground water tank, my jet pump went out again, got a new one, waiting for the guy to come install it. i got an old fashioned iron hand pump, for when the electric, or the pump goes out again, i can pump out water. got pipes, fittings, foot valve. i just dont know what kind of base to make ,to bolt pump to, over the pipe that will come out of the ground. any ideas?
you can make a wooden floor cover using a treated good lumber of 1 X 6 for the floor and 2 X 6 lumber for the floor joist. assemble the 2X6 lumber for the floor joist. depending on the top area of your water tank. arrange the floor joist at 0.60 meter spacing and 1.2 meter braces. after that, use 1X6 lumber as flooring with at least 2 cm spacing between lumber. as on the base of your pump, you can reinforce it by adding 2X6 braces. use a lug bolt depending on the size of the slot at the base of your pump then bolt it on top of the 1X6 flooring. its better if we can draw it here to make it easier to understand and explain i dont know if this can help much because we havent seen the actual situation of your tank and your pump.
Q:There is a pump, the rated power is 1200W, but only more than 600 W measured! What's the matter, please?I was not measuring no-load, pumping water in the pool, this work environment should be sufficient to pump full load? Also, is the rated power should not change?Thank you
Manufacturers in order to make money, the nameplate marked "1200W", in fact, the maximum power of the motor, only 750W.
Q:Why can't vertical water pump use spring shock absorber?
Vertical pump power is small, the weight is limited, the pipeline vibration is limited, the general rubber shock absorber will be enough. It's no use. I'm sure you can't use the spring shock absorber.General construction, 7,5KW below is rubber shock absorber, above is spring shock absorber
Q:What is the difference between a sewage pump and a clean water pump? Why can't sewage be pumped with clean water?
In short, the main difference between clean water pump and sewage pump: impeller and runner design, as well as other parts of the configuration are very different.1., in order to prevent clogging of sewage pump, the main design of large flow channel, so naturally lead to relatively low efficiency, so the head is generally not high. Clear water pump flow smaller, smaller clearance, the head is relatively high.2. in order to prevent the wound, water pump impeller design is more simple but not ring pump, equipped with tips, cloth and other debris can be crushed after the pump, and the impeller water pump is relatively complex, but the efficiency will be significantly higher than the former.3., in order to prevent wear and corrosion, sewage pumps generally use better wear resistance, corrosion resistance, mechanical seal and O ring as the seal of water pumps, and clean water pump without strict consideration. To sum up, we can get a very good understanding of why not water pump sewage problems -- characteristics of channel and the impeller and other key design, resulting in water pump for sewage situation is likely to occur, blocking, winding, wear and corrosion occurs, resulting in damage to pump or scrapped, so water pump can not be used sewage.
Q:I'm not too familiar with computerized cars, just wondering if the water pump going out would cause the car not to start?
Drain coolant, would would desire to eliminate coolant reservoir, next pull belt tensoner back and eliminate belt remembering the way its routed. next eliminate the bolts on w-pump pulley eliminate outer ring of bolts on pump. sparkling gasket setting up new one ,.bleed air from equipment to pevent overheat.desire that's stable.
Q:What is a fair price to have a water pump with belts replaced on a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer?
My 2002 Trailblazer water pump went out. I was able to get a local mechanic to install it (after I bought the parts for $150.00 The fan shroud and clutch have to come off. You need a special tool also. I think the dealer wanted about 700 bucks. I had the guy do it for 150 I bought the water pump (about 40 bucks) and he replaced the serpentine belt since he had to take to old one off.
Q:Why is the water pump usually used multi-stage pumps, while the circulating pump is usually a single-stage pump?
The circulating pump is usually used in the closed-loop system, circulating pump will be generated when the pump pressure, the pressure is also said, and the suction pump up is in normal pressure system, the outlet of the closed-loop system, when the system pressure is 0.1MPa, the water pump for water system needs higher than 0.1MPa, the difference of pressure difference the greater the water faster, on the contrary, the smaller the slower the pressure difference; so the normal work must want water pump outlet pressure is greater than the system pressure. The replenishment pump is usually multi-stage pumps, and circulating pumps are usually single pump is wrong, as long as the replenishment pressure difference to meet the requirements, multi-stage pumps and single-stage pumps are not affected.(single stage pump and multi-stage pump difference: 1, single-stage pump water level "is a wheel is a level", an impeller, no other brothers and sisters for help; and a plurality of multi-stage pump impeller, there are brothers and sisters for its help, so that his ability to work is high. Just as a man works alone and a lot of people work together, the work is differentTherefore, as long as the design requirements are met, it is not important to select multi-stage pumps and single-stage pumps.
Q:I just had my water pump/timing belt replaced and oil change. When the pump failed, white smoke was coming out, which I figured out to be coolant from the smell. Now there is smoke coming out from under the engine, which I believe to smell like oil. Also, the temperature gauge goes up to the halfway point when I am at a stoplight or idling. The highest I have ever seen it is at 1/3.I had my car serviced by the dealership and I asked them. The man said its burning oil residue from the oil change and that it will burn away in a few days. Is this true? I have had my car worked on and oil changed for the past year at this dealership and have never had any smoke or other problems. What else could be going on? Worse case scenarios. Thanks everyone.
Almost every time i have seen this in my 35 years of exp.its turned out to be a cracked block or head.
