Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

Q:I've decided to redecorate my room, and I was going for a vintage theme because I absouetely love it.I have a comforter picked out-
I'd stick to black or red though. With a room like that, try to bring it to life with accessories like wrought iron candle holders, clear glass vases, a classy lamp, mirrors, or chandeliers. Choose decor that really works with a french theme and you'll have a spectacular bedroom.
Q:appropriately enuff my mom gave me an area rug and she smokes, so does everyone else around her, we don't smoke at my house...febreeze only makes a quot;freshquot; smokey sicko nasty smell.
Stop everyone from smokeing in the house, put rug in hot sun outside for a day , maybe it will air out.
Q:I am renting this house and the carpet smells. I don't know why...it's not dog or cat urine or anything like that. Do the synthetic fibers the carpet are made out of or the cushion under the carpet cause this odor...it really builds up if you are out of the house for a day or two...and what can one do to fix this...shampooing didn't work
Get some enzyme solution from your local janitorial supply and use as directed.
Q:What do you mean by the warp and weft density of the carpet?
Warp density is the number of warp lengths along the length of an inch (an inch), and likewise, weft density is the number of roots along the length of an inch to the warp.Of course, the greater the density, the more the root and the closer the fabric.
Q:Does anyone know of a carpet steamer that leaves little or no detergent residue? I want to buy a steamer, but have been warned that most have the usual problem of leaving too much residue that makes carpets easier to soil.
I've heard that it's NOT the carpet steamer that's leaving the residue it's using too much or not the right kind of shampoo... Most people think MORE is BETTER but, that's NOT the case with carpet steamers... What happens is all the soap doesn't get picked up and eventually it dries and settles into the carpet where it attracts even more dirt particles.. So, if you use a carpet steamer cleaner just go easy on the soap and/or rinse with clean, clear no-soap water... Good luck
Q:I acquired a huge area rug from someone who was giving it away, they said I just have to steam clean it. Well the thing smells beyond belief and we've already used a whole bottle of Bissel cleaner solution. Do you think t will come clean if I take it outside tomorrow and spray it off with a hose and some vinegar and let the sun do the rest? I do not want to have to go to the store and buy anymore solution, it's obviously not working so far. Thanks!
take the rug outside on the concrete, mix up your normal laundry solution with some oxi clean and a 1/4 cup bleach, dilute this in a gallon of water, pour some on the rug and use a broom to scrub the rug. Then rinse with the water hose. If you have something like a couple of boards you can lay underneath the rug so the water will flow thru the fibers it will rinse easier. Let it dry in the sun.
Q:How Do I Install Carpet, I just installed the wood tacking boards and new foam padding. and now am lost as what to do next.
It's a complicated process if you do not have the proper tools. I would recommend hiring a carpet installer to install your carpet. It has to be properly stretched and seems need to be made perfect so you cannot see them.
Q:Rugs are freakin' everywhere!
There are none skid rugs available in stores. They have a thick soft lining on the bottom so they do slip. Also you could use masking tape or double sided tape. Place on the bottom of rugs and stick them on the floor. They won't slip under your feet. Good luck !
Q:I want to put a rug down in the middle of my living room that has laminate wood floor. I have a couple of larger dogs that tend to run aound on occasion. The current rug has a smooth back and slides when they skid to a stop on it. The replacements that I've looked at all have the jute back and I'm concerned that when they cause this type to slide across the floor, over time it will behave like sandpaper and scuff the floor. I know I can put a rubber anti slip pad on the back to prevent some of it, but won't it still eventually scuff the wood laminate over time around the edges?
