However, I keep getting the runaround about what I need and what I need to know to get what I need. I was told that I need to find out how my carpets are installed. I don't want to ask the apartment people because they will charge me a ridiculous amount of money to fix the situation. I have Shag carpeting in my apartment. I do not know how it's laid onto the floor. Is there a way that I can find that out? Also, is there anything else that I need to know? I haven't found any help regarding this except getting the runaround. Please help a girl out! :)

you can call a carpet place to send a guy out. they have to cut out the section, then sew the carpet together or use tape. good luck buddy

Then still I have to pay labor separate. It is a unique tile in a unique shape, not square but rectangular.

The cost of the tile can vary from .99--? If you are happy with the $7 a square foot, then that is fine. I paid for my tile and then paid 3.50 a square foot for installation. I don't understand the extra money you have to put out for materials? and then to pay labour separately? I would get some estimate from other places...unless this is for the prep work..then it would make sense if that was needed. I strongly suggest you get a written estimate from them and a couple more installers. I like to hire the installers from the place of tile purchase. I cannot help you on carpet..sorry..I have no experience with that.

Vinegar and just water. I (my thoughtful husband) did the same thing and days later, steam cleaning with only water, it s the best that has worked.

A professional carpet cleaner is your best bet. However, you say this is out of the question. Realize that any home remedy is risky. Having said this, you can try to clean this rug yourself, but the results are not guaranteed. You can remove red wine with white wine. Pour white wine onto the red wine stains. Let that sit for about 20 minutes. Then wash the rug in your machine using the cold water setting and Woolite. I would not add fabric softener. After washing, hang to air dry. Do not machine dry. There is a chance machine washing will ruin your rug, but cold water machine-washing is as close as hand-washing as possible. If you let the rug air dry, there is a good chance it will survive. Honestly, if I had an expensive cashmere rug that was stained, I would take it a professional. The choice is yours. Good luck. -

oops! okorder IF the rug is cotton or similar plant fiber. If your rug is poly fibers, toss it... no amount of dying will stay.
