Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

Q:Im a single mum of three and a student so you can probably guess that i don't have alot of money!I went to a carpet store and they said that i could carpet a room using felt back carpet which the fitters can use glue to put down because felt back carpets don't require underlay.right now that seems to be my only option.i just wanted to know if anyone has a carpet that doesn't have any underlay and if is worth doing it??
If by underlay you mean pad, and you will be gluing the carpet directly to the floor, yes, you can do this. If by underlay (this is the way the term is usually used in the US) you mean an additional layer of material, pressboard or some sort of plywood, which is used to either smooth out an imperfect subfloor or to raise the level of the carpeted floor so it is level with adjacent hardwood or tile, yes, you can do this. I'm assuming you are talking about pad... The thing with glueing down your carpet is that it won't have that additional layer of padding for softness. It will be very hard and uncomfortable to sit on or lay on (like kids like to do) and as the pad protects the carpet from the grinding of shoes, it will make your carpet break down faster. Also, when it comes time to change out the carpet again, it will be more work to take up the old carpet before you put down new carpet. I suggest going to other stores in your area for ideas, when looking for the best deal, it's always wise to shop around and maybe someone will have other ideas or deals for you. For a residence, especially with kids, I do suggest a pad with a moisture barrier, it will help keep spills, accidents and dust from getting into your new carpet pad. Once these things get into a regular pad without a moisture barrier, they will never ever come out..
Q:I have blue walls with a gray blue carpet. That would make for ugly curtains. Do they really need to match?
Go with a gold or natural beige. Or use blues complimentary color of orange if you really want to liven it up! You could also use a darker red with those colors. It depend upon your furniture and what style you are going for! Since I don't know all of the facts I would probably use the gold/tan/beige colors and then use color in pics, pillows, throws, accents, area rug, etc.Best wishes!
Q:could i turn my highland out in winter with a summer turnout/sheet with a rambo fleece underneath ( best fleece on the market ) because hes a highland i dont want him caked in thick heavy turnouts. i just think a summer turnout would be enough to keep the snow off his fleece which is really what i want. i will only use this method on snowy/frosty days.
I think you can use a summer rug with a under rug that can keep him warm, if the snow melts in the middle of the night and the water wont soak the fleece. I bought a waterproof and durable HH summer rug for my pony, and I used it with a under rug. Also you can buy a proper turnout rug.;)
Q:I am about to get a foal and a light horses. Which blankets/rugs do each of them need and why?
In England we used to call them rugs, in the US - blankets. I think rugs was the term used for the old fashioned jute ones that were held in place with a wither pad and roller and then they had additional wool blankets added underneath for more warmth. If the foal is still on her mother, they shouldn't need rugs. For a horse that you are riding, you might want to get a medium weight stable blanket and a medium weight turn out for when it gets really cold. You can get foal blankets but they are really only used if the foal is sick, underweight or unable to sustain body temperature. I prefer not to use foal blankets unless there is a medical need or they are being shown.
Q:If landlord was to replace carpet with our security deposit does it, by some type of law or anything in Florida, have to be of equal or lesser value than the carpet originally in there? Or can he just get really fancy carpet and charge us up the ***?
The landlord can install whatever kind of carpet he wants. What he can charge the tenant is a different matter entirely. The tenant is responsible to return the unit to the same condition as when they moved in. This means the landlord cannot charge the tenant for redecorating, upgrading, and/or renovating the unit. Yes, the carpet should be about the same quality as was already in place if the landlord is attempting to charge the tenant for it. In addition, the landlord can only charge the prorated amount of life left in the carpet, which is typically estimated to last about 10 years. Meaning, if the carpet was already 5 years old when the tenant moved in, he could only be charged up to half the cost, even if he destroyed the carpet. If the carpet was over 10 years old, the tenant cannot be charged at all, as it was already considered as having to be replaced. This is a very, very loose rule, though; a judge may not necessarily agree or may consider the life of carpet to be closer to 20 years. Certainly, carpet can remain in good condition for that long if properly taken care of. Hopefully, you have move-in pictures dictating the condition of the carpet and what quality it was.
Q:carpet pythons reach sexual maturity at three years but is it ok to breed them at three years
Gee...they're slow...I started at two......
Q:What good is a carpet?
Carpet water absorption, usually careless cup of water spilled on the ground, does not matter.
Q:No, I dont mean dancing! I have hardwood floors in my bedroom. I want to buy carpet, but the room is an odd shape. Is it easy to cut myself, and would I only need special scissors? Or should I pay to have someone do it for me?
I suggest you pay someone to install the rug professionally, then you would have more time if you decided to actually, Cut A Rug. lol
Q:Carpet size abroad. What's the size of this carpet?
Of the carpets produced in Northwest China in nineteenth Century, woven with four strands of wool, decorated with simple floral patterns, typically of lotus and pomegranates.Baotou carpetRefers to the production of carpet style in nineteenth Century China Suiyuan area, the characteristics of clouds, flowers, a symbol of longevity and tone pattern.Suiyuan carpetThe Inner Mongolia carpet made Chinese Suiyuan style, its characteristics for the whole carpet covered with a repeating pattern.
Q:An orange candle spilled on my light burber carpet. I've removed all the wax but now I'm stuck with an orange stain!!! Any suggestions on how I could remove it?
Kelly, After you used the iron like described above, use a degreaser like 'Dissolve-it to remove the last of the residue. Candle wax is a oily type stain so a degreaser is cruicial. The big caution is not to use a product so strong it takes color out of the carpet that is supposed to be there. I have never had Dissolve-it or Simple Green harm anything I've used them on. Good luck!
